In March the Center for Reclaiming America for Christ had its conference in Fort Lauderdale, FL. One of our favorites - Anne Coulter - was a keynote speaker and repeated her "faggot" bashing of Democrats - this time to an audible gasp and no applause. She evidently left the stage abruptly after the reaction.

While its hard to say exactly why the Center is shutting down, it is nonetheless good news to many of us.

Important quote:
"We're getting back to our core competency, the production of media," said Brian Fisher, executive vice president at Coral Ridge Ministries, founded by the Rev. D. James Kennedy. "Our heart and soul is the teaching of Dr. Kennedy, and getting it to more people than those who come to church."

That must be why it has absolutely no resemblence to the teaching of Jesus.

Does anyone want to give the eulogy?

They wanted to reclaim America as if America belonged to them only. Reminds me of a toddler screaming, "IT'S MINE!!":hissy:

Here's another case of Ms Anne showing her backside. She's Imus with blonde hair and a short skirt. Apparently, that gets you a pass in Washington. She gets a little criticism but it didn't get her fired or anything.

In 1998, the Center, which was then led by anti-gay activist Janet Folger, gained notoriety by leading a divisive national advertising campaign that featured so-called “ex-gays.”

According to Wayne Besen of Truth Wins Out (http://www.truthwinsout.org/uncategorized/truth-wins-out-celebrates-the-closing-of-coral-ridge-ministries-center-for-reclaiming-america-for-christ/#more-156) (from his book Anything But Straight), she's the one who came up with the idea to promote "ex-gays" so the collective anti-gay rhetoric could then be promoted as "loving."

Janet Folger, author of "The Criminalization of Christianity - read this before it becomes illegal."

I hear she also wrote Night of the Shrew

I don't think this qualifies under the non-violent response category, though.
