Hello from Central, PA. My name is Janett, I'm a 28 year old straight 'born again' Christian. I joined this forum because I think I've been fooled into believing that - as a Christian - I must pick and choose who is worthy of love and who isn't.

Greetings, Janett. Welcome to Soulforce. There are lots of heterosexuals in Soulforce. Some of our most vocal supporters are heterosexual. Rev. Jimmy Creech (http://www.soulforce.org/article/48) and Rev. Stephen Van Kuiken (http://www.soulforce.org/article/28) even lost their jobs as pastors because they would not say no to the inclusion of same-gender couples in their churches.

One of the conversations I best remember was when we were at Washington D.C. demonstrating outside the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops. When we took a lunch break, one of the gay men at our table asked Marylee Fithian why she was involved in Soulforce and the gay-rights movement. She's heterosexual and did not have any gay relatives that she knew of. She gave her answer straight-up: "Because I'm a minister."
