Well for me that is a very difficult question. My all time favorite animal is a mythical creature, although I do believe they did exist at one time. It is the DRAGON. As far as animals of today...I would have to say WOLF.

YAY!! another cheetah fan!!! :D ;)

We have over 100 stuffed animal friends. One is a cheetah cub who we picked up at the gift shop of the Phoenix Zoo last May. She's beautiful, and very playful. Her name is Checkers.

I also luvvvv wolves. Hubby really likes Dragons. And alligators, and T Rexes.

I have a yen for a Schnauzer.

I have a yen for a Schnauzer named McKinley.

I have a yen for a Schnauzer named McKinley because I believe all Schnäuzer (that's my plural, by the way; I have no German linguistic confirmation that the plural of Schnauzer is Schnäuzer, but I can report that the plural of Haus is Häuser...so there you go) look like our former President William McKinley.

McKinley, as you might remember, was shot to death in Buffalo...which, when you think about it, is really redundant.

But, most of all, I have a yen for a Schnauzer named McKinley because these lovely dogs are, in fact, hypo-allergenic.

That is all.

I have a choice in both categories. Love cats, have full and partial custody right now of five total. In my old age, we could most likely be cat ladies, with a houseful of twenty. I just love them so much.

Wild? Would have to be wolf as well. Wolf is my totem in Native American belief, and I have a tattoo of a wolf in a dream catcher on my left leg. Someday I will post a pic when I figure out how to do so...... :)

I have a yen for a Schnauzer.

Did some quick research, and it appears you'll need quite a bit more than a yen for a Schnauzer. To be more precise, you'll need anywhere from about 42,000 - 120,000 yen.

Horses, especially Arabians, especially my very special Arabian gelding Louie! But love all horses.

Next would be birds, crazy about them. Dream about them, go far away in search of them, have more than 200 on my life list so far. Love them birds!

Specifically, one is my all-time favorite single animal. That would be the precious love of my life Dot. She's a Yorkie Poo, or Porkie or Yoodle, her stage name is Lilly Lumkins (she does a fabulous impersonation of a pin-up girl and is quite the ballerina!). She is never going to die, she is going to live with me forever!!:love::love:

I love giraffs and wildebeasts too!

I feel like the kid who has to make a comment but then just repeats something that someone else has said because he can't think of anything original. Hand waving frantically in the air waiting to be called on.

I love wolves. I have a lot of wolf decorations about the house.
For pets, it's no question - dogs. I like big dogs that like to go on mountain bike rides and be outdoors. I always thinks that the creation of dogs proves that there is a God. (I know I astound you all with the depth of my theological reasoning.) :D

Me too!!!! :love::love::love:

Yeah Austin, I love raptors too. I especially love American Kestrels (small but fierce with sweet faces) but I think my favorite is Northern Harrier. They can swoop straight up or down, hover, are so graceful yet fierce and strong, and they have owl-like faces. I got a close-up once, shivers & awe!!

My partner and I have a Green Anole called Liz. She gives us endless delight. She eats live crickets so grocery shopping is a challenge.

Many years ago, one of my sisters asked every family member individually, without telling what the others had each said: "If you could be any animal, what kind would you be?" Every one of us said we would be a dolphin.

I also love bunnies, kitties, puppies, cows, horses, lambs ... zebras, giraffes, elephants ... this could go on forever ... I love sooo many animals ... panda bears, koala bears, polar bears, penguins, otters, meerkats, lemurs, squirrels, deer, hummingbirds, peacocks, flamingos ...

My stuffed toy lizard named Eddie, after Eddie Izzard (gender variant comedian and actor) ... my stuffed animal collection, the sound of songbirds, the sound of seagulls, the sound of horses clomping on cobblestones ... watching colorful tropical fish swimming ... watching seabirds walking on their little webbed pad feet ... watching dog shows on TV, and the "Puppy Bowl" on Animal Planet during the Superbowl ...

Lions and Tigers and Bears ... oh my! (and your little dog too)

I always have this dream of being a really rich prince like gentleman who lives in an estate in the country, who rides horses and plays chess, fences and does archery. i really want a hawk too... a big leather glove and the bird, on top of a horse with a bow to my back and a rapier at my side... that is my dream... yep.

sorry... random... but we were talking about birds... and hawks are just so cool

Zerbie,

:lol::lol: Did someone ask you to? Yer funny.

Hmm, snake avatar. Maybe for Danny, since he identifies with Severus Snape of Slitherin House.

OR! I could change my avatar from the green-eyed pigtailed little Zerbie girl to a picture of a snake. Might change my image. ;)

Hey Paul - you haven't told us any favorite animals. Which are your faves? And what animal(s) do you identify with? Have any totems or power animals?

Paul, or anyone else playing: Tag!! You're it!

Don't go encouraging Danny to change his avatar.

I've been likened to a gazelle. my martial arts animal is a tiger, I have a mean axe kick which patterned after a cat striking with it's claw. I have always been fond of cats. and love maltese dogs.

You can lead a horse to water but you cant make him walk on it. I find them to be most noble in friendship. They make excellent teachers, just try doing something they dont like.

Foxes are graceful and witty, independent like a kitty,
i'm no poet, so i wrote this little diddy to show it.

We recently installed desert plants in the front yard, some of which bats like to eat. Don't know if any bats will make it our way, though.

If you could be any type of animal (or bird or sea critter), aside from a human animal, which type would you want to be?

I would like to be a dolphin or an otter : )

If I had an exotic pet (which i wouldn't) I would like a bear. No pun or double entendre intended. I once ran into a black bear in the woods of New England's Berkshires. She (I'm sure it was a she dont know why) was scratching her back against a tree. I looked at her, she looked at me, then she yawnedand lumbered off into the woods. I've been a bear fan ever since.

Ellies is big cats of all types, but favorite cat is snow leopard or white tigers, my teen is a cat person, dragon for mythological, my son is a tried and true bat person. His room is painted like a cave, to his specifications and has bat pictures all over the place. My little one likes, get this, bugs, squash bugs, she collects them from the garden every year. She wants to be an Entamologist!
