Hello members of SoulForce,
This second greeting is so that you do not think that I have some kind of atitude problem. I am new to here,, both in Texas and on this forum. My partner is still in Arizona and will be joining me shortly. I have come to Texas to live/take care of my older brother. He has a medical problem and is not expected to be here much past Aug.. He has offered his house to both me and my partner whith no strings attached, well one. We have to care for his two cats and all the strays that come around. I reason I say no strings attached is because my brother is a die hard Sothern Temple Baptist. And so you know, he is also the only one out of ten in our family that has not judged or rejected me for being gay. He has never tried to convert or change me or my partner. While he does not get along with Todd (my Other half) it is not for a lack of trying. Todd just does not like him because he is a Christian, and Baptist at that. Jim (my brother) has been nice enogh to let me use his computer while he builds me one for my own personal use.
He has been posting on another web site, I think it is called charm/carm or some thing like that. he sugested that I might be more welcome at this site Soul Force than I would at the one he is on. I nor Todd have ever owned a computer so all this is new and rather interesting and a little exciting.
I have spent much of the day reading...and reading...and still more reading on the forum. And while every one seems to be honest and sincer about their thaoughts and views, I can not help but get the feeling that as a "newbie" I would be treated like a second class person or poster. I say this after spending hours reading and re-reading the thread called "concerning our diaolgue". Now I know every one on this site is well aware of how being gay we a treated less that second class people in the real world. One of the main reasons Todd and I have had such a hard time trying to buy a house. For this reason only I think that I will continue to look for another site where I can feel like I belong completely as a family member. Please do not get me wrong, I am not putting this site down at all, I just do not think I will fit in being a second class person because I'm a "newbie"...........may all my love reach all of you, and thank you for your time and trouble kitt.

Kitt,
You must do what seems best to you, of course, but I would urge you to hang around for a while and participate in a thread or two and see if your fears about second class citizenship for newbies is acurate. I found that I was accepted almost immediately as soon as I began (as you have now done) to reveal myself. I have also found these folks to be very loving and supportive over the months that I have been here. I have also found them to be outspoken in their beliefs and have had my ass lovingly kicked by them from time to time. Its all been good.
You need to understand that while the Soulforce equality ride was going on we had an influx of people who were not particularly affirming of GLBT people and the thread you were reading (concerning our conversation) was us talking to ourselves about how we had responded to those folks versus how we WISHED we had responded.
We work hard to be an open and accepting group of people and you are very welcome to be among our number.
Peace,
Dave (aka U-dog)

U-dog,
We'll see, i am going to read for the next week or so just to be fair. whether or not I post I don't know. I can't seem to shake the feeling of having to walk on egg shell oops, before I say some thing, or worring about what I say, or how I say it. As a rule I try not to offend, and I always treat another with respect, as it should be. I would like to find a place where I could talk and even solve some personal issues between Todd and I, its kinada what I was hoping for..any way I read and see what happens, thank you kitt

Hi Kitt,
I will try again. The system kicked me out and delete my nice long message to you. :) HE HE, see you are not the only one. I always thought computers were fine for word processing, I'm a writer. I was not going to go on the Internet.
As you can see God had other plans. I try not to make too many mistakes. Don't worry about any you make. I thought your first post was cute. Sometimes my Mom says Blah, Blah, Blah when I talk too much. It is a hobby you see. I would go back to see where in Texas you are, but that is what got me kicked off in the first place. I'll just ask, where are you in Texas? I'm in Galveston. We may be neighbors.:)
I like that your brother seems to be acting like a true Christian. Maybe your Partner would like Christians better if he met a few more like your Brother. I will pray for your Brother. It was sweet of him to include such innocuous strings for the house he let you have. He sounds like a very nice fellow. Take care of each other.
Hugs,
Angel
