Okay,
Well, I'm back again. I had another sabbatical of sorts, I guess. My parents have the book Bringing Up Boys, by Dr. James Dobson, and I decided to read his chapter on Homosexuality. I have written a draft for a letter (I'll post it up here soon.) and I was wondering if you all could help me edit it. I don't know if I'll send it yet, but I just feel it is necessary to do this.
Namaste,
GSK

I would love to see it and help you out. I just "love" Dr Dobson. I havent read the book, but I believe my uncle did when they adopted my two cousins a couple years ago. If I am correct, please tell me if I am wrong, isnt that the book that contains the supposed "gay agenda" satire without the first paragraph included that indicates that it is just a satire or joke?
I need to find out if my uncle has read that book and get it and read it if he has it. I am curious to see what the honored Dr Dobson has to say...:lol:
Please share away!!!!

When I worked as children's choir coordinator in a conservative church one of the moms talked about this book a lot. She said that her son knew every word to every show tune by the time he was six and loved to play dress up and put on shows, etc. and that this book had shown her she needed to get him to stop doing that... so she put him in baseball instead and was trying to discourage his creativity (of course she didn't put it quite like that). I was enraged, but I think I let my mouth gape and gave some weak response about how every child is different... looking back, I could have done better. Do share!

Egads. What poisonous ideas. So, Dr. Trained Psychologist, which studies told you to advise parents to stifle their children's less-than-gender-stereotypical interests as a way to mental health? I have less and less respect for this guy all the time.

You could always just read a chapter from it while browsing at the store. I read the chapter in question at an airport newsstand that was selling copies; I just stood there and read quickly.

I would bet that most local library systems would have it or have access to it ... he's been disgustingly popular.
