to go get myself all un-hot and bothered. A good workout and maybe a funny movie. But I will be back.

Before I go, I want to apologize for the tone that has apparently been in my posts. I did not mean anything to sound rude or disrespectful, honestly, but from the reaction I've gotten, and from the PM's I've received I must be sounding really angry... so, I'm sorry if I've offended you, really, sincerely... I don't mean to be offensive. So I'm going to take a break. And breathe. I'll be back tomorrow though, so don't get too comfy when I'm gone. :D:love:

I'm going to guess that it's this post of yours that caused the pm's:
Just want you to know, I think you are fully justified in what you are saying. I got your back. People are being rude to you, mostly because they disagree with you, but there is a little residue resentment from other conversations. I must say, its amusing when you look at it... Just don't take it personally, these guys can be jerks, and they can be full of crap too. I see what you meant in your second post on this thread, we are judging you. I have been saying practically the same things you have been saying, in much meaner and ruder ways then you (Yes, that was on purpose... I know, right?), and yet somehow you are the one taking the sh** for it. That's not right. I'm sorry for it, and yes, it is because of past conversations that you are getting treated this way.

Simpleman is right. I think we all owe him an apology. I've learned my lesson not to apologize for everyone, but I'll still say, it wouldn't hurt. Don't apologize for disagreeing with the guy, just apologize for your curtness, and who knows, he might apologize for his curtness in previous conversation...

So Simpleman, just chill out, relax, and don't let it get to you. I'm with you on this one. That's all.

In red: you really don't see why many members who post on a regular basis would be offended by this statement? well here's what you've just done: you've apologized for everyone by telling simpleman that we're a bunch of jerks and full of crap. is this really what you think of us Austin? and in calling for an apology for our curtness, you have been more than curt, but also hurtful and insulting.

in blue: by stating that what many of our regular members have said is shit, you've just thrown some of that yourself. I'd say your hands are just as messy as anyone else's, except the shit you threw hit some of your biggest supporters.

You seem to be saying that you don't know why people think you are hot and bothered, that's the impression I'm getting from your post that begins this thread. when you cool down and return, I hope that you can see what your words really say to the people who think the world of you.

Wow, Keltic.

Yes, that was what I got from the post in question over on "scary" or whatever that thread is called. I was seething mad at you, Austin, with that post on "scary", and I noticed I was about to lose my reason over it, which is why my reply was so brief. Therefore I went away, cooked some rich creamy risotto & watched a movie, after which I wasn't upset anymore.

Then I saw THIS post. Austin, kudos to you for recognizing that your friends are angry and for taking a time-out to get rid of your own negativity. We did the same thing, you & I.

When you're calm, I hope you will reflect on what Steve just wrote to you. It strikes me as a really blunt "this is exactly what your words mean to me and here's how bad it makes me feel" statement. Yet at the end of all that, he reminds you he thinks the world of you. Seems to me, only a true friend would tell you all that.

...From what I've read through, I think I can honestly say I'm ashamed of each and everyone of you who even responded to the "Have you had it with simpleman" thread.

I don't care what he said. You should all be embarrassed that you would even put up a post saying you are for or against a person being on the forums. If you have a problem... then go, talk to the moderators... but publicly? I can't believe you. I can't believe that any of you would stoop that low.:injured::borg:

For all its worth, I am totally with Jen on this one. We need to take the higher road around here, folks, and not be singling people out. We need to at least be actively trying to practice what we preach around here, albeit not perfect, but at least try to face our opposition or detractors with understanding, even if it isn't complacency. We can express our views and the way that we see things, without getting personal with people. Let us remember our own freedom to not post if we need to take a breath, and realize how things that are posted impact on us? We are trying to bring ourselves and those that may not have a full understanding of us closer together, not further apart. It may take a long time for others to come closer to an understanding of our point of view, if they ever do. But, it doesn't justify us using any means necessary.:love:

Well....I posted on the thread in question.

Those here may remember the thread I started about 'talking to Blosson' months ago. While her participation wasn't put up for a vote, and the thread was an attempt to do what the recent 'Our dialogue" thread has accomplished, placing another member in the hot seat, however obliquely, may only detract from the aims of nonviolence.

I'm layering the analogies here but this thought comes to mnd:

The rope we give each other can be used either to hang one another or pull each other to safety.

Well said, Daniel. Thanks for that. Here's to using that rope to pull each other out of the muck. That is what is seems like it is about, right???:love::love:

At least acknowledge that some of us who posted on that thread posted there TO SAY that the thread was inappropriate and that personal complaints could be directly privately to the moderators.

I do acknowledge that, and to those of you who were doing that thank you. But you understand what I was saying... you weren't the problem

Yes Jen, I know, I'm so sorry.

I was just now coming here to edit away the snarky remark, planning to get rid of it. :o Consider yourself an innocent victim of Zerbie's PMS monster - I have been seriously flying off the handle all day today, for absolutely no reason whatsoever, and I'm sorry you caught the brunt of it. That was really petty of me!

I am STILL trying to find something that will stop me from getting this way a week out of every freaking month! Suggestions gladly taken (as long as they do not involve pregnancy).

We should ask the mods to delete that thread and move on as chastened and better persons.

it's already locked after a good tongue-lashing by one of the moderators. it will fall to the bottom as you introduce new and improved threads to that forum!

now, anyone else want to be locked up and given a good tongue-lashing by an "in-charge" type of guy?
