I got stung by a bee...when I was just innocently walking out the door! Now, I ask you, did I do anything to warrent that sting? Did I violate that bee's constitutional rights? Did I evidence bias against it? Did I impinge on its right to free buzz??? You're welcome for sharing. :)

Oh Meghan, sorry to hear that - I HATE bee stings and try to avoid them as much as possible.

Don't worry about sucking up and being a man. But, do embrace your masculine side. Tough chicks (that don't mind crying) rock! ;)

Hope it feels better soon girl.:love:

I'm not sure if bees discriminate, but I rarely get stung or bit by mosquitos.

My girlfriend gets eaten alive by both.

I am however, the queen of spiders, or so they think. I normally have spider bite or two hanging on my body somwhere....

You most likely 'suprised' Mr. Bee because, from his perspective, you appeared suddenly (from a dark doorway into the sunnier outside) out of nowhere, thus intitiating his survivial instinct. :inspector:

I usually don't get bitten by insects, my skin just goes crazy and I get big red itchy scaly rashes when metal touches my skin(Usually a wet razor shaving my legs) I don't know which is worse, lol, hmmmmmm I wonder what my masculine side would do in this situation, probably have to stop shaving.. But then I get hairy.. My feminine side probably would not go for it though. It's tough dealing with opposite "Sides"

He's been ill, you know. Obviously, it must have come with a very high fever and exacerbated the already significant symptoms of aging. Can you find it within your heart to forgive him? If not, then perhaps you can just laugh at him, and chalk it up to his attempt to take the World Curmedgeon's Title for 2007.

Now, as to your problem with the bee. I hear a great deal of anger in your first post.

BTW, lay down on the couch - make yourself comfortable.

How long have you been harboring animosity toward bees? Perhaps bees were significant in your childhood. Or maybe its just projecting. Have you been wanting to sting something or someone lately. Perhaps u-dog - hmmm.

I would strongly suggest taking in several deep breaths, picturing the bee as a friend who only wanted to get close and cuddly, and examining the love you have in your heart for all things.

Then again, if it were me, I'd be buying some Raid and hunting the nasty, hateful little buggers down. Of course, I don't have any bee baggage to deal with - you may need to choose differently.

FYI: Progo is the name of my kitty, short for Progonoskis! I named him after that character in Madeliene L'Engle's book, "A Wind in the Door" She's a great author that I highly reccommend....so, my kitty comes with me everywhere, even with my screen name. :)

You've all failed to consider that the bee, in all likelihood, gave it's life in this tragedy. Honeybees stingers are not designed to work on thick skin like a human's, and they almost always are left behind, along with some vital internal organs ... stinging a human is generally the last thing a honeybee ever does. Contrary to popular myth, this does not mean bees sting "only as a last resort" ... in fact, they have no idea it's going to be fatal.

So while we talk bee anger issues, there is a bee family somewhere wondering when daddy is coming home. Ok, not daddy, worker bees are all female, so mommy. But mommy the worker would actually be coming home to mommy the Queen, so little bee has two mommies (more like 200, but who's counting?) and has enough social prejudice to deal with without becoming an orphan in the mix.

Typical of the human majority to see our inconvenience as more important than the life or death struggle of our oppressed bee brothers/sisters.

Harumph.
