Well last night was my first Gay Prom. I got into a my button up shirt and kakies and whent with the carpool there. I was really nervous about what to say to people and all that but my friends told me to relax and it would be fine. So we get there and we were meeed with protesters holding signs like "Your not born gay" or "1000 ex-gays can't be wrong". however, we were also met with a large band and dozens of suporters! They cheered us on as we walked down a red carpet into the building! Some were also holding ballons or rainbow flags in front of the protest signs. When we went in, the music was lound and people were dancing. They then stoped to announce that we were to nominate prom king and queen. The night went on and the kings a queens were crownd and then at the last dance I finally slow danced with someone. It was a great night! Can't wait to do it again!

Wow, Brian! sounds like a wonderful evening. I'm glad you had such a good time. Sorry that crowd of arrogant, self-righteous, no nothings felt they needed to express their opinions on your big night!

My friends whent up and messed with them. I really don't know how though. Someone was holding a sign that said "stop recruiting our children" and I wanted to hold a response that said "Only if you stop first"

Brian- I'm glad you had a good time "Gay Proms' didnt exist when I was in HS. Boy! Have things changed! It's really cool that you went. (And had that first slow dance.)

OH....I want the address list of the 1000 ex-gays. Can they produce it? Bet not!

YAY Supper hippy!!! Dances are soo much fun.
And Daniel, I think their list is similar like this one, my ex-gay-boyfriend Jo, and John, and Bill... etc. There's no such thing as ex-gay people, those are just straight people who want to be cool like us.

NO KIDDING!!!
Brian, I'm glad you had a fun time at the dance. When I was in high school (which wasn't that long ago) this sort of thing would have been INCONCEIVABLE!
I'm glad you're dancing, hanging out with friends, & having fun.
