I have been reading for a while without introducing myself.....I'm struck by how caring, compassionate and supportive the community is, especially to those who seem to be struggling. This seems like a community that welcomes diversity. I've also been impressed with the courage of the young people on the bus. Reading about them fills me with hope!

I'm sorry, that was a terrible thing for me to say! How insulting it is to link anyone with the likes of u-dog. you have my deepest apology!

We decided that Polly should join as "Polly" and use Polly Purebred as her avatar and just see how long it would take to tumble. Steve saw it first but when we didn't confirm he shut up. Daniel figured it out and I gave him an :award: award for being clever. When I started to refer to my wife as "Polly" then Brent got it.

Sorry, it was just a little experiment.

An experiment with truth? Ooops. No. Not that.

So to figure that out we had to know your wife's name was Polly? I just learned her name a few days ago.

Now I see that my contact lenses are still not focusing - I thought she joined in MARCH. She joined in June. I get new lenses tomorrow.

Polly is only "Polly" here. Not everywhere. You only had to know that Polly Purebred and Underdog had a thing going in the cartoon of a million years ago in order to be suspicious.

Speaking of cartoon couples: COMPLETE tangent ... but you don't suppose Yogi and BooBoo had a thing going, do you? I knew there was something I liked about them.

Cartoon?

 There's a cartoon about dogs? Other than Lady and the Tramp?

Okay, let's see if I've got it YET:

"Polly" is your real-life wife, but her name is only Polly on this website, she has another, different name in the "real world."

And, you're both dog-lovers?? :)

Back in the olden days, before you were even a glimmer in your Daddy's eye, there was a cartoon show called "Underdog" about a mildmannered shoeshine boy who in moments of great need became a valient (but somewhat silly) superhero named "Underdog" The impetuous young journalist with whom both the shoeshine boy and his alterego was smitten was the beautiful Polly Purebred.

Since I had already chosen to be U-dog, my wife, (whose name is NOT Polly in RL) decided to participate with me here, decided to take on "Polly" as her "moniker" and "Polly Purebred" as her avatar.

Hi(Not your real name) Polly,

I have been waiting to meet you. Waiting with "baited" breath actually, and you have been here all this time. I haven't even said hello yet. Now I feel like an idiot. But that's a fairly common thing with me. (If you have been reading my posts I'm sure you know that already.)

Welcome. It is very good to have you here. I look forward to getting to know you better.

Tu Amigo, Pablo

Hey Pablo and everyone else,
Just going through the old threads while looking for something else and noticed I never acknowledged everyone who welcomed me.....thanks! I do marvel at how some of you folks find so much time to write stuff and read what everyone else writes, too....there are some fascinating conversations but it is hard to keep up. Anyone want to share tips about how you do this?

I personally do it by having no life and wasting on-the-clock time at work.

Hi Polly

Welcome to the Soulforce forums! Glad you are here to share and enlighten!

I never got around to welcoming you until now - so I don't do what you are mentioning very well. Not enough time, but I try to get on here and there (when I can sneak in my office and log on!). Anyways, glad you're here and joining in the discussions!

From one dog to another...:D:rainbow::wave:

Personally I stick mostly to the "Hello, My name is..." and "General Chat", I'd love to get to be part of all of it, but that's just not possible... I'm a slow reader and time on the computer can be limited.... things get a million times worse as soon as school starts up... then I'm lucky if I follow 3 or 4 threads.

I personally do it by having no life and wasting on-the-clock time at work.
Bad Brent. Bad.
