That's a pretty amazing article!
I couldn't help but wonder what took us so long??? I realize none of it is conclusive, but golly!
For the record, I am not left-handed and I'm the oldest and only son, but, sure enough, my whorl (such a cute word!) goes counter-clockwise and my index finger is indeed longer than my ring finger.
I can also corroborate some of the other data...but this is a family show, so I'll just leave it at that.
Who knew? :D

Ok, I have a clockwise whorl, my ring finger is longer than my index finger, I am left handed (which cancels OUT the effect of being a younger brother) I seem to have normal male thumbprints.
So... am I gay? Or am I just a straight guy with a thing for other guys' butts?

you know, ever since you told your kids about your orientation, you've not only come out of the closet, you've become much more, ummmm, open about yourself

Very interesting article to say the least. It made me think about things and check out all the different stuff.
I have a massive cowlick on the back of my head so it goes in all different directions, my index finger is shorter than my ring finger, finger prints are difficult to see but they seem narrow and pretty dense. I am right handed, however, I can write pretty well with my left hand to. Actually, if I write in reverse (mirror image) I can write about the same as I can with my right hand.
The research that was talked about later in the article really caught my eye. I have heard about the "birth order" theory. However, there are the people like me that are only children that cant be explained by that one. I do think there is something, and it isnt nurture, it is biological. I am sure it is a culmination of many things, not just one specific thing. It isnt "curable", it isnt a "disease", it is just how we are. I just wish they could find a "gay gene" so we can just put this issue to rest once and for all. Just find some conclusive, irrefutable evidence that you are born gay. If not for the simple reason I can go up to my aunt, a devout christian that believes I can change my orientation, and tell , "it is how God made me. This is how He wants me to be so who are you to say I need to change." Man that would be just so fulfilling. Man that gave me the chills...lol
Like u-dog I have a thing for guys butts too!!! I know I am gay and very happy to be a total FAG!!!!

Hmmmm....interesting...
I have a clockwise hair whorl and my ring finger is about 1/3 inch longer than my index finger. Does that mean I'm a gay man happily trapped in a lesbian's body?????;):p:D
Sorry, I did TRY to be a little serious!:lol::lol:

Did I mention I'm the oldest child AND I was reportedly born LEFT- handed, and a bit pre-formal school forced to learn to use my right hand??
Guess that's about enough proof...

I am a freak.
According to this article, there's a reason I have no particular sway one way or the other. The reason is either that I am as confused as the results of the various the gender indicators would show (I am all over the place), or that I am extra-terrestrial. Jenna is going for the latter, but I don't think she meant it as a compliment.
I think I will refer to myself from here on out as having indeterminate sexuality and gender-identity. Now, won't that surprise a lot of folks? No, I didn't think so, except for those who would bet money that I'm gay.

Well...the article noted that, according to research, 8 percent of straight men have the counter clockwise hair whorl thing going. So if you have that, you are in good company. I don't have it, though I am left-handed. And my fingerprint doesn't look dense to me. And my fingers are like that of a straight man. So- if you are a freak, you have lots of company.
Beam me up to your ship baby!

That article is incredibly interesting, the only thing is that is seems like if they aren't really careful with what they say in the process of doing this kind of research they could make things much better or much harder and things could very easily go either way.
I can also corroborate some of the other data...but this is a family show, so I'll just leave it at that.
Alright... and while everyone else just completely ignored that statement, I thought you should know that it I had a very hard time laughing when I read that...
...as for me, I've been stopping total strangers on the street today, saying "let me see your whorl!"
I only got beat up twice.
So, I suppose that maybe Daniel shouldn't adviced that you don't do that when he posted this article
... and my ridiculously straight friend has no whorl at all... it just kind of juts our straight... its weird. I wonder what that would mean? I feel kind of sorry for him...

So my body is straight, and my brain is bisexual (and seemingly also bigendered). That explains a LOT.

my index finger is bigger then my ring finger on my right hand and my left hard to tell it is so close to being the same with the index just barely longer; so what does that mean?

Well, its a very interesting article. I am a lesbian and I wonder what makes us so unable to be measured? For the record, I am left-handed, and my ring and index finger are pretty much the same length. If you measured in milimeters, the rings are longer by a few hairs.

This article smacks of the pseudo-science from Nazi Germany days. They tried to prove that certain races were genetically inferior based on physical characteristics. I know you guys are having fun but some people take this stuff seriously. The article just really struck me the wrong way. Many people died because they had a sloping forehead or eyes too close together.
