Like the title says, my name is Paulus. Some of my earliest memories of my big brother calling me, he would call me by this.
Surfing the web through the night and I saw the ad for Rev. Mel White's booklet, "What the Bible Says - And Doesn't Say - About Homosexuality."
Because I have questions about some of his remarks in the booklet, I figured (maybe erroneously) to come here for the answers; I may have to ask him by email.

Gay or straight, Christian or not, you are welcome here. You haven't told us much about yourself (which is fine- only when you are ready and feel safe doing so). People on this forum are more than qualified to answer any questions you may have about Mel's pamphlet and any and all questions are welcome here as long as they are true questions. be warned: sermons about the evils of being gay DRESSED UP as questions do not find a warm welcome here. We don't insist that everyone here agree with everything all the time, but this is primarily a refuge for people who are committed to fighting anti-GLBT religious bigotry through non-violent means. Its a good idea to read the rules of the board before beginning to post in earnest.
given those provisos... welcome aboard!

welcome Paulus. ask away! I'm sure you'll get all kinds of responses. you might even get some of us to disagree on some points
u-dog has given you some great advice: read the guidelines! we're very serious about keeping this a safe place for lgbt people. questions designed to entrap will not keep the dialogue moving very well. We won't justify ourselves as gay or as christians, or as gay christians. we are done with those arguments. you might also want to know that not everyone on this board is christian; we welcome everyone from any and all spiritual journeys. you will find buddhists, pagans, and all kinds of variations of christianity.

Straight, Christian: LC -- MS, don't like taking things out of context.
Wait there's more...
First off, I am a sinner; I have broken every one of the Commandments, and I am not proud of that.
I have put other things before God: my time.
I have put my trust in man-made things that cannot do anything of their own.
I have taken the Lord's name in vain several times.
I have despised God's Word.
I have dishonored my parents.
Figuratively speaking, I have murdered people.
I have stolen time, a most precious commodity that cannot truly be paid back from my employers in the past.
I have lied in the past; to protect myself or to get what I wanted.
I have lived in sin with a woman who was not my wife. I have committed adultery with other women.
I have coveted things that were not mine.
On looking at the list above, if I were to stand before a moral earthly judge, I would be sent to prison for a very long time.
If it were not for Jesus Christ, I would be going to hell for eternity, and hell ended up being thrown into the lake of fire.
But because what it says in Scripture, I am forgiven.
I'm not here to condemn. Meet new people, get some answers, that's all.

Correct me if I'm wrong about this sub-topic of "Hi, My Name is..." but isn't this column only for introductions? Presently, I'm also in "Faith and Nonviolence."

Hi Paulus,
Sorry for this late welcome. I have appreciated reading your posts.
Yes, this thread is mainly for introductions though occasionally discussions do drift into other areas.
Is your name "Paul"? I wonered that from your username.
I also had wondered if you were an LCMS Lutheran since you said you had a Concordia Study Bible. I see that was a correct guess on my part.
It seems we have some things in common.
My name is Pablo
I am a former LCMS Lutheran
Wolves are my favorite animal.
Please give us more info about yourself.

Pablo,
Look above on post #5 of this topic for a bit of a background on me.
Here's a picture of a partner that I had in Germany many years ago.

Jennifer,
Actually, I was researching something else when I "ran" across Mel's pamphlet & realized that I would have to become member of the discussion board before yakking.
So, you're up there in Washington State; what do you think of the Northern Lights in the early Spring? I got to see them when I was stationed in Michigan -- they sure are something else!
Hope you have a safe holiday over the 4th.

Hmm... as pretty as nothern lights sound we get very little, if any, sign of them. By early spring this year we were very much still dealing with winter weather... it actually snowed on March 1st. We kinda skipped right over the spring season.
I love pictures of the northern lights and everything though. I hope to see them one day.
