We are on vacation here:

http://www.fairmont.com/lakelouise/

This is one of the prettiest places I've ever seen in my life - the other being Lake Luzern in Switzerland.

Lying in bed in the hotel room, I can see Lake Louise and a mountain and a glacier!!! Out the other window, I see more of the Lake, and some forrest.

This is amazing!

We are heading out now to go canoeing on the lake!!

Oooooooo, I so want to go there...if for no other reason than it was a place invoked by my GayAuntieofaCertainAge -- Auntie Felice the Bad -- who would habitually refer to himself and/or others as:

deep and unfathomable...like Lake Louise.

(Fabulous, no?)

Fabulous yes! Your Auntie & Lake Louise.

Z, it's gorgeous! Wow! Say hi to the birds while you are out canoeing. Enjoy!

I shall dream now......

It really is gorgeous!! Right now, the cloud pattern over the lake is making the water appear so many different colors - all with pine forest reflected in it.

Yesterday the sky was clear at sunrise, and when the red sun came up, the glacier turned bright red in reflection! It was the most astounding mountain I'd ever seen! I had no idea ice/snow could turn bright crimson like that.

Tdogg you especially would love it here: you can rent horses from the stables and go riding for hours.

The food around here is quite good too. I have a suspicion the chefs all got together and decided I was too skinny - I practically exploded after dinner last night. Can too much food be fatal?

Seriously, if anyone wants a spectacular dinner recommendation in Lake Louise village, we found a magnificent place. It's one of my top 2 or 3 fave restaurants ever, in all the cities/countries I've been to, yet.

Well by Tuesday we will be back in Phoenix into a dusty, 115 F degrees. Consider that your revenge.
