Hi, my name is Stephen. I'm a young guy (25) on a mission to change the world by love. I'm not a hippie, but, rather, a firm believer in the power of God and the power of the human person. I'm Catholic by faith, and I am gay. It is something that i have spent many years reconciling within myself and something that I currently feel called to reconcile in a more public way. I believe that this only happens with a radical openness to share our lives and our way of life with those with whom we come in contact.

Institutional fear, which is the root of oppression, is only shattered by shattering the fear of those that make up the institution.

When i'm not being a subversive, i'm studying to be an architect at the University of Florida - Go Gators!

Hey Stephen,

I've been learning this weekend (http://www.soulforce.org/article/1226)that many people have gone through those tortured years of attempting to "reconcile" -- something I think most of us go through to some degree. But the "radical openness" that you mentioned seems to be a theme that keeps coming back as being most effective. Essentially the idea of "coming out."

"Coming out," can, and often does rock universes, but I think I understand that you mean to 'come out' more in the simple activism sense. Activism as in the learning the truth, AND learning how best to communicate that truth to others.

And I think this forum is one of the best most open places to do that. :weee:  :D

So by all means, welcome to learning, applying, and communicating the truth through soulforce principles. I'm not the best one to show how, but there are many here who are.

Your witness is required. :agree: *

Ooooo.... I just watched V for Vendetta* again last night. Your subversive refusal to be afraid and seditious mission to break the oppressor's fear with love has got me all jumpy for the bandwagon.

Do you have cool masks that we can all wear???:D:cool:

Welcome to our home, friend. Hope you find it to be a happy one for you too.:):rainbow::wave::smurf:

*Okay...not the most nonviolent of movies, but the principles of nonfear are very applicable...and it's just cool dangit!!!

Welcome to Soulforce Stephen! Your mission is our mission. I'm really glad you found your way here!

Our own dsdrane (David) is an architect- and lives in Florida (though that may be changing very soon). I'm sure you'll meet up presently.

I can say that I was pretty darned ecstatic when i found this site....it kinda sums up everything that i've been feeling for a while. I'm even more ecstatic at the prospect of meeting a community of people who are like minded.

...and the masks are in the preproduction phase :)
