Hey guys. Welcome to soulforce. I have found the people here to be very affirming and the dialogue to be very stimulating. I actually was in a relationship with an Assemblies of God pastor, and I was a lay leader in the church. Obviously, we were a closeted couple; however, I do know that God brought us together for that season for a reason. I also know it can be rather difficult...not sure what religion/denomination you subscribe to, but regardless...it can't be easy. Once again, welcome!

One of the essays in "Queering the Pitch: the new gay and lesbian musicology" talks about how the phrase, "he's musical," was a coded way of saying you thought a man was gay. At least, I think that's where I read that - - - not entirely sure.

yup, lots of musicians here. I'm getting ready to join them...going to audition and join the True Colors women's chorus here in Sac. Well, they say talent isn't a requirement, but I'll let them listen to me first before they decide! :p

Hi guys,
Welcome! I am new here too and am a worship leader and keyboard player at my church too. Am in the process of coming out so not sure how much longer I will stay in this church, which is conservative, Bible-believing, but has rockin' music. I have done, "Open the Eyes of My Heart Lord" to a thumping disco beat and the congregation loved it! So if you want to talk worship music, especially faster stuff, im your man. Im from NJ. Where are you from?
