Leave it to the Australians to come up with the PERFECT response to Fred Phelps:

From the related videos category ... this is what happens when Phelps's crew meet a group of people nearly as insane as they are:

These jokers believe almost everything Phelps does, except for a doctrine called "limited atonement" ... don't worry about it, suffice to say it's a pretty fine point of theology. But for this, they're ready to go head-to-head ... if only both groups would show up together everywhere and keep each other occupied.

The Phelps groupies seem very tired, angry and hateful. I haven't seen love in any of these clips. They reply in frustration and anger when approached with something for which they aren't prepared to respond. Just come back with loud voices speaking nothing. There is absolutely no reason or logic in this group.
It's funny, but it's a tragedy at the same time. :(

Thanks for sharing. My husband and I were cracking up at that reporter. I love how the man just walked away. The woman were ready to pounce.

You're right ... I have to alternate between laughing at how absurd they are, and crying because they actually mean it.

Brent, do you have anyway to find out what city that was in? (the second video)

The second set of whackos are from Lake Hughes, California. Don't know if they travel as much as Phelps-family, or if this was likely to be in their neighborhood. Dunno.

"shut your trap. shut your trap. I'm about to quote you some bible verses!":rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:
when I was a teenager, there was a family of very strict fundie apostolic christians who lived up the street from us. As a matter of fact, they were distant relatives. One day, a fight erupted in their front yard. The father (not exactly following the faith real well) had returned to the house after having beat her the night before. The sons, young men, perhaps late teens and early twenties, met him on the porch. They were there to protect their mother. Punches started flying and you could hear throughout the neighborhood "Hit him again, Praise the Lord!"
It's a family joke now. We use it when one person verbally smacks down another, to show support for the jab! (always done in jest!)

It is amazing, isn't it? Somehow, the shut your trap line is even funnier in black and white, with the emotion removed.

When you take away the emotion, it sounds even dumber. That these people take themselves seriously is absurd.

Alright... I just had some concern because one the guys looks a little to familiar... but I can't place him.
