and are there any messes I need to clean up? I trust you all behaved yourselves!
I was a counselor at church camp for the past 3 days. It is a "mini-camp" for kids in k-3, so we do just 2 overnights. It gets them used to the idea of camp without being gone a full week.

Keltic- U-dog never behaves! He accused me of being backhanded, underhanded, lefthanded (well....I am that). I couldn't figure it out! Perhaps he was talking about tennis, but then, I don't play tennis. Ageism was a factor too. What a Sorry Soulforcer!
I think you are going to have get out the whips and chains. But Oh....he might like that.
And he LOOKED at me! I mean...really!

Yes, I've seen numerous one sentence responses that have yet to be challenged.

Please contribute something of substance to the dialog by posting responses consisting of more than one sentence.
Thank you for your cooperation. :D

Didn't you see the sign?
There is no doubt in my mind that the length of the modern sentence is woefully inadequate for the deeper needs of philosophical discourse and hopelessly underperforms in all contemporary attempts at substantive communication, leaving the intelligent reader sadly understimulated both oral and written correspondence; which unfortunate situation often sends those who pursue the enthralling delights of social converse toward more solitary and autonomous activities, such as the reading of long, romantic poems and letters, which divertiments being pleasurable in themselves, can never offer the sublime satisfaction that follows when beautiful, living, communing minds exchange prose of more ample syntactical endowment.

I don't quite remember the punishment that's in store for me. But perhaps it has to do with something like reading Jamesian sentences which end in rather peculiar ways. 'Ample syntactical endowment'? Sounds rather kinky.

I cannot remember when I have laughed so much. I did not know when I joined SoulForce that I was going to be this entertained...had I known, I would have signed up much faster...and Daniel, yes it might have sounded kinky, but I really liked it. Does that mean anything??

*aside*
Friends, I've just employed a technique called "post-padding". It's a strategy for increasing one's post count by posting responses in consecutive replies that could have easily been combined into one post. Unfortunately, we here at soulforce forums do not appreciate this kind of posting. I will now send myself to the penalty box.

I haven't been to a good stoning for years. Let's not take this too lightly - set up a precedent for treating this particular outrage softly. We need to make an example of him - what do you think. I'll set up the stone concession - pointy ones and big flat ones are my specialty.
andrewlittle

... is best described as brain-farting. Just saying something for the sake of saying it. I love that technique, but it's not as bad as padding.

Is Zerbie the only one who is even going to make mention of my "impotent moderator" comment? I had some good comebacks already thought up, and they have all gone to waste.
I don't know what's with all of you. Lately I have been making my usual rude, inappropriate, immature comments, and I have been pretty much ignored. We teachers are not used to being ignored. I expect to be the center of attention!
This isn't an organized conspiracy, one of those "if we all ignore the idiot, he will go away" things is it?
And since we are speaking of being the center of attention: Have you all noticed that since I turned the "Pablo's Parents" thread over to the teenagers, they have let it fall into total ruin and neglect? And I had such hopes for the upcoming generation - it breaks my heart. :'(
I like the "Stoning of Steven" idea, however. It has a nice ring to it.
(Online stoning is generally rather tame so it doesn't really go against my pacifist tendencies.)

Did i ever tell my "automatic smacker" story here?
I had a Honda Civic when my kids were little. It had a switch in the center of the dashboard that looked like a lightswitch. I believe it controlled some airflow to the windshield. When the kids were being bad in the car, I would ask them if they wanted me to flip the switch for the "automatic smacker" Yes. they bought it. They asked me about it a few years ago.
kids: Dad, you remember the car with the "automatic smacker" ?
me: yeah.
kids: you just made that up, right?
me: yeah, but it worked.
kids: ohhhhh, :o :disagree::headbang:

Well, now that you bring that up...YES, I'm closing in on the big 1K of posts!
Actually, it's possible this one will do it. Yessiree, 1,000 posts, all profound (haha) and of course, intelligent sounding (hehe). Yup, think this will do it....
And now, for the real biggee, I'm going to attempt to start a thread. I figure, with 1,000 posts under my belt, it's about time to start a thread of my own, well start one to share with all of you....
It's actually a serious subject that isn't actually looking for specific direction...

So as not to give any false impressions...
Steve, you are doing a tremendous job as our faithful moderator. I don't thing you are impotent at all (unlike Pablo). And, your house is really coming along great! You are such a hard worker. Your sweetie is SO lucky to have you.
So now folks, on to find one more thread in which to respond, and then I'll start a thread....to celebrate the big 1,000 post....

It'll probably top the thread I started to celebrate my one-thousandth - which I believe was called "What happens when you reach a thousand posts?" and the only text I could come up with was something like, "Do I get balloons. . .?"
And of course, I had been hoping for life-altering profundity. . . .
Well, lessee wha'cha come up with. :inspector::reading:
