CHOOSE TO LIVE!
PSALM 118: 16-18, NLT, "The strong right arm of the LORD is raised in triumph. The strong right arm of the LORD has done glorious things! I will not die, but I will live to tell what the LORD has done. The LORD has punished me severely, but he has not handed me over to death."
There are situations that drain the life energy out of us. A relationship can drain us, a job can drain us, debt can drain us, family can drain us and I'm sure that we can think of a host of other things that drain us of our life energy. The Lord Jesus Christ came to give us life and we have life through the Lord Jesus Christ.
We need to choose to live and have a blessed life. We need to deal with and minimize those things that drain us of our life energy.
The pressures and cares of life will drain you and wear you out if you don't choose to live.
CHOOSE TO LIVE!

I agree with your diagnosis, Snuka... and I agree with your prescription! (being a Christian and all) In my experience, the most energy draining thing of all is lying about who you are and hiding from the world (i.e. living in the closet)! I am convinced that it has been the most important thing driving my lifelong struggle with the demon called "Depression".
I believe that if you are gay, Christian, and depressed, the most important thing you can do is to come out to Jesus and to yourself and begin to formulate a plan for how you will come out to the people who are most important to you.

u-dog, I totally agree with you. Living "in the closet" as a gay Christian is probably the thing that can drain us the most. It's very dangerous for us because it does cause depression and other terrible things. People have committed suicide because of their struggle with being Christian and gay.
Mel White's book, Stranger At The Gate: To Be Gay And Christian In America, helped me and it changed my life. I was also in therapy with a gay psychologist.
Homosexuality is a gift from God and gay people are as saved and baptized in the Holy Spirit as non-gay people.
It is a lie from Satan when people say that you can't be gay and Christian. They try to take the Lord Jesus Christ and salvation away from us. Well, we need to take back the Lord Jesus Christ and salvation!
There is freedom from depression in the Holy Spirit for gay people.

I totally agree. All closets are a drain and right where Satan would have us stay. First I was Christian and closeted Gay. Then Out Gay, closeted Christian. After finally realizing the lie and not having to "people please" anymore, I am free. It is a blessing to be Gay and I thank God for it everyday.
Be Blessed,
Nick
