I changed a tire for a lady today. It was on a two-lane country road. She was a home-health nursing assisstant and wearing her scrubs. I was in my regular farm clothes with pig and sheep poo on them. I told her "No need you getting your work clothes all dirty."
I told her my partner was a nurse and used to do home health and hospice.
I said the phrase "my partner" about four times. Maybe next time she hears someone talk about how godless we are she might think about that buzz-haired woman with a partner who changed that tire.
Of course, changing perceptions was only one of my motives. When I help somebody like that I do it because
a) it needs to be done and I'm available
b) I can change perceptions
c) who knows? It might be a test to see how good a christian I am today.
d) it makes me feel good.

If you did that for me, I might've thought you were sexy.
I am as helpless at changing tires as if I was a two year old. Last time I had a flat I called AAA, and they sent a truck out. A sexy woman about my own age turns out to be the driver, and she puts my spare on in about 45 seconds. Rowr!!
Who knows, maybe that lady's crushin' on ya now.
Red,
That's great, I love it. Could be really fun if you found a guy to help out :D.

I am convinced that the greatest thing that we can do to increase LGBT acceptance in the world is to show love to other people. It is hard to be judgemental and prejudiced against a person whom one knows as kind and compassionate.
Little things like your act of kindness can go a long way.

Redneck,
I say the same thing when I am talking to people, "My partner and I" and sometimes even "My wife and I" which usually gets people to scrunch their faces then the light goes on and they go, "Oh I see" and all I do is smile.
Your act of kindness flies in the face of those who think we are nothing but sexual deviants in trench coats lurking around school yards and playgrounds for little children to molest. Stuff like that needs to happen more often, like when keltic "jumped" Andrew driving 50 or so miles out of the way to help out a friend, and you changing that tire for that lady. Maybe slowly but surely we will eventually see that we are nothing to be afraid of, and our only agenda is to be able to love who we love, and live happily ever after like everyone else.
You go girl!!! Proud that you're family!!! I bet you looked sexy in your farm clothes. :applause:

50 or 10, you were still the good Samaritan stopping to help this poor man, who left his lights on! ;)
