I am playing a wedding tomorrow afternoon, and Scott and I are attending another wedding on Saturday. This afternoon I created their gifts! (see attachment below)

I purchased 2 baskets, some excelsior, some silk flowers, wine glasses and a candle. Yesterday I bottled about 6 gallons of my homo-made, err, I mean, homemade wine. so the lucky couples will receive the wine, with a personalized label featuring my own artwork as well as their names and wedding date, the candle, the glasses, flowers, and a card, all sealed up very nicely in shrinkwrap.

The best part is, that these look expensive! I can tell you here, privately, that each comes in at less than $20. Please don't inform the newlyweds. i don't want to look cheap.

What a wonderful idea, keltic!! And they look so beautiful, the grapes in the basket is a nice touch..... Jamie and I have grapevines on our property, and have made wine in the past, LOTS, but had to dump the lot because it came out lousy, really watered down. We want to try again, tho. Very thoughtful and personal as a gift. Enjoy both celebrations!!! :)

Don't suppose you could rush one of those here in the next 3 hours?

We are attending a wedding this afternoon (it will be my first weekday wedding). Your gifts are lovely!! All we did was buy crystal.

Classy and thoughtful and personal ... and a gorgeous fulfillment of the stereotype ... OK, I know it's a stereotype ... but really, how many straight guys would come up with something as cool as that? (hee hee)

Keltic,
You were just aflamin' weren't you? So gay! (I mean that in a very good way). Very nice and very pretty! You need to open up a wedding planning side business, let them know you're gay and want the same rights straight people get, all the while just flaming your little heart out! Sounds like a plan to me!:)

Well Jennifer, I had this little white dog named Snoopy when I was 5. My mom gave him away because he kept digging holes in the yard :(

Just saying.

But but... that's no reason to get rid of a pup is it? How'd you react? :'(

I was pretty pissed. 5 year old kids like their little pets.

Of course they do!!! Dogs are the best with little kids!!

We always had dogs, but one of them taught my sister and I how to walk! No joke.

Cool. I don't even like dogs that much, really. More of a cat person. Ben's dog is ok. I liked that little white dog though.

Maybe you would've liked dogs better if you got to keep Snoopy!?!? You would've loved him so much! But you after that you wouldn't get to attached to a dog, because you were afraid that someone would take him away... maybe?

I love cats too! I got my first cat when I was five, still have him, can't even imagine something happening to him.

Maybe. I think it's more that a lot of people have annoying dogs. I've never seen a cat bark at everything that moves. He was a cute dog. I've had my cat for 17 years now. She's low maintenance, which I like.

Yeah, definately! A lot of dogs can be annoying. But cat's... leave the food out and let them sleep on the bed... they don't want much more then that from you...and if they're mad at you, you'll know it.

Yeah. Actually, a few years back my friend Cristina's cat hated her roommate. One day he crawled up on his computer monitor & peed, ruining the monitor.

OMG... that's horrible and genius all at once! I mean... there are probably so many people that we wish we could do that to... (alright, yeah, that sounds weird, but hopefully you know what I mean)

Yeah. It would be funny. Reminds me of this term, "upper decking," some guy at a party last night introduced me to. I guess some of his friends were doing it at other people's houses or something. Gross, but I laughed.

Yeah, I think that would probably be my reaction too.

Well... I have to leave pretty soon... my mom just infromed me that she wants us to all go over to Seattle for the evening, diner, wondering around and what-not. So, I'll probably only get one or two more replies in. But at least Seattle is fun!

Has anyone seen those hilarious Cingular commercials where the teenagers and the parents are having a "not fight" over cellphone usage?

One of them ends like this:

Kid: That's so fair!

Dad: I got news for you kid... Life's fair!

Kid: You can tell me what to do!! <Kid walks away>

Dad: <shouting at his back> Hey! I raised you to talk to me like that!

As a recent dad of teenagers this just made me laugh!!

It's sort of their logo. I think it's a ring tone that probably came in my phone (& yours) too, but I'm not sure.

Anyway, I like this commercial. It's totally me:
