Went to see a play tonight... it was called "Nunsense" and is supposed to be pretty funny... but I felt tortured. I find sitting and just watching something for 2 hours very boring... it has to be one heck of a good story to keep me interested, I always have to be doing something.:smashy::headbang:
I wish that I could enjoy it... but just sitting there getting NOTHING done... :borg:

Either your mind is wound up and not able to focus on one thing at a time, OR:
You saw a lousy production. Bad productions of good shows can make good shows look bad.

I got pretty bored with that show myself! I think its kind of "thin" material. the jokes are all really obvious and the songs are NOT that good.
Oklahoma on the other hand is a FUN show with Great songs in it. The story line is silly, but ... its a musical... what can I say.
If you are really ADD try taking along something that you can do with your hands. (something quiet) Do you knit, crochet, or embroider? If not... you might consider learning one of those. giving your body something to keep it busy may leave your mind free to stay present to the show.

I took silly-puddy... and it helped a LOT!
Plus my swimming teacher was in it.. and I couldn't stop laughing it him, so that made it fun! Oklahoma is sooo much better then any of the other things they've made us go to. :D

Oklahoma! is an excellent show. It's my favorite of the golden age musicals.
It actually has quite a dark side, if Jud is done well. We recently did a production in which the Jud was cast VERY strongly, and we saw very much his vulnerable abuse survivor, tortured side. It made for a very powerful production, and actually, the only production of Oklahoma! I've seen where I was more interested in Jud than anything else.
So who was your swimming teacher? If you were laughing all the time I'm guessing maybe, either Ali Hakim or Will Parker?

Umm... if he said that I missed it... the songs were what I found really funny... but really I think with the scenes he was in it was just looking at him.... (yeah, I CAN be that easily ammused)
