Ok, so everyone knows how impressed I was with Canada after having gone across the border to get married. Daniel, Steven Webster, pnggrad79, they all experienced legal-same-gender-marriage-goodness from a more enlightened country before me.
And then I watch Michael Moore's Sicko and see what other nations have with regard to universal health care. When are we going to get that?
Well, now I have heard what the Japanese have. And let me tell you, they have cornered another important area in the quest towards a more civilized society. And now they want to introduce it to our country via a great new website. Enough from me, let these eager people explain!

I don't believe I have ever lusted after a toilet seat before. Notice that they are not eager to tell you how much it costs?

Just think of the savings - no more plugged toilets, no tons of toilet paper in the sewer... I thought the price of the toilet seat was pretty reasonable.
Great idea! We are SO FAR BEHIND!

It will have to wait, though, until I can find my powerwasher in storage.
Course, then I'd have to run power to the outhouse.

I'm totally in love with the Washlet. It looks like the seat costs about a $1,000 dollars and the stand alone version $3,000. With a Washlet you could stop purchasing toilet paper. If a roll of TP costs 69 cents it would take about 1,500 rolls of toilet paper to break even on the $1,000 version. If you go through 2 rolls a week, you would break even in about 14 years. Given the fact that the Washlet would not last 14 years, it does not seem like a good investment. You would also have to factor in the cost of water and electricity to run the unit and the ever present threat of electrocution.
That said, if it came with specialized attachments for gay men, it may be well worth the investment
I think I'm going to join Andrew and build my own version.

It would take you 30 min. to use the bathroom.
For 3000.00 I'll wash my hands.

Does it say if the wash is warm or cold? That could make a difference...:p
Wow, being an auditor I run my professional and private life by constantly figuring out the cost-benefit of any significant decision...As Antony has done that for us, it would not appear that the benefit would be worth the cost. Unless one factors in the happiness and comfort the item would bring - but those benefits are hard to define in monetary terms.
Yeah, I don't think it's on my shopping list any time soon! :D
