Even though I support the hate crime legislation, I would like to know more about the hate crime bill and where I can read it in its entirity. I do agree that the things that have happened in other countries in terms of Christians speaking within the frame of their religion is inappriopriate. But, it's my understanding that the new legislation will not have that effect. Thoughts?

Friends,
Here's a website that supports hate crimes legislation:
http://www.religioustolerance.org/hom_hat1.htm
Note that this is a Canadian website, although it has good information about the U.S. I notice that it has a reference to Canadian law. Be careful! Canada and European countries do not have anything quite like our First Amendment, so that they do ban certain types of speech or propaganda. I guess that's their business, but I am proud of our First Amendment--which does protect people who want to say any hateful thing they want.
U.S. opponents of U.S. hate crimes legislation complain of limits on speech that occur in Canada or Sweden, but they totally ignore the fact that we have the First Amendment.

Link to the full text is on the site somewhere here. I'll try to find and bump it.
There is No speech restriction whatsoever under S1105, and furthermore, religion is one of the protected classes. Ironic, ain't it?

'Infinite entrails' is a phrase that comes to mind.

I know you're with us Progo, so I chide the "conservative Christian" perspective when I say; Heck, shouldn’t we be starting up the whole thing all over again about now? After all, they’re STILL lying out of their ying yangs (http://www.boxturtlebulletin.com/2007/08/07/625) about us!
(sinister-like):

You can always visit the project started by Soulforce forum members at http://www.hatecrimesbill.org. The whole bill is there under "Read S. 1105".
The White House affirmed it's committment to veto the Bill today:

Good point, Steven. It goes back to the fact that everyone has the right to express their opinions whether or not I agree with it.

I would say that they intentionally ignore that we have the first amendment...because they have a secondary agenda...making sure the words "sexual orientation" do not get in federal law.
