Hey Jennifer is this one of those get to know you threads?

I live in Illinois.

My favorite place is actually a favorite situation. My favorite place is wherever my family can gather together and be together.

I am 53 as of today.

I really do not have a favorite restaurant. However, I love chinese and mexican food.

I love my life, although it is not perfect, but I learn from those imperfections so I would have to say everything in my life is good now.

Yes there are many I would die for, besides my children and grandchildren, my best friend of 41 years. She happens to live in Lacey, Washington. We have always been there for each other even though miles seperate us now.

My question is..What would you consider to be the most important thing you have learned in life?

Hugz,
Bill

6. Is there someone in your life that you would die for?

My answer to #5 is my adorable wife, and my precious two girls.

My answer to #6 is my wife and my kids.

New question? if you had to do it over again, what would you do differently?

My answer would be admit a lot sooner than I was a lesbian, have children with my wife, her have one, me have one, and live being a lesbian for a long wonderful time. I would have never married my ex, and wouldn't have the emotional scars that I have now because of it. Thankfully, my wife has helped me heal a lot.

OK, so my answer to question 7: the most important thing I have learned in life is that Life is short and you need to live it everyday like it's your last. That means do what makes you happy and not what everyone else wants you to do.

If this thread goes on to 300 posts like the "Pablo's Parents" thread we won't be able to answer all the previous questions. How about just the last question or last few questions? What do you think, Jennifer?

I suppose it kind of is...

I thought about that... but it wouldn't be as interesting I don't think... One thing I will do is make sure to start by posting all the questions so people can easily figure out what they are. It wouldn't be much of a dare if I made it easy would it?? This is why I are you to participate in this thread:love:.

11. Favorite ice-cream flavor? There's nothing like a really GOOD vanilla
12. Favorite fruit? Plums. Really good mango (but you can't get that in PA)
13. When resetting the toilet paper roll... Over, or under? Over, but my current bathroom doesn't have a wall mount roll, so sideways.
14. would you be doing right now, if you weren't doing this? Watching an episode of The Dame Edna Experience (Wow, I AM gay)
15. Favorite holiday? Easter, no contest.
16. Favorite name for a boy? No actual favorite, but I like uncommon names.
17. Favorite name for a girl? Jane. Just plain Jane ... that was my mom.
18. If you could star in any movie, which one? Would probably be a detective story (ala Poirot, Sherlock, or the like)
19. What do you usually think about before you fall asleep at night? "Egads, is it REALLY that late?"
20. What is your greatest fear? Was always "being found out" ... haven't thought of a new one yet.
21. By what characteristic/trait/endeavor/occupation do you identify yourself? Counselor ... even though I actually haven't done that for a living in 10+ years.
22. Most irrational fear? Heights ... knees start knocking on the fourth step of the ladder.

And I'll add ...
23. Song/musical group you hate to admit you like? "No Matter What" by Boyzone (egads, a boy band!)

22. what's your most IRRATIONAL fear?
Probably fear of spiders... I don't know, that's not completely irrational though. I don't allow fear to control me, so I don't know.

23. Song/musical group you hate to admit you like? "No Matter What" by Boyzone (egads, a boy band!)
At least 50% of pop, country and rap out there.

24. You're a family of how many? (how many people do you live with...)

Good grief, Andy - why????????:lol:

Okay, Zerbie, I know this seems wierd to someone who suffers in the Arizona heat, but I love it. I grew in Australia, and home was mostly the Outback - desert, hot, dry, hardly ever a cloud in the sky - and, oh, was that sky big.

That being said, Arizona rates because within a short drive are the beautiful, cooler, northern AZ mountains with lush trees and vegetation. Then there's the southern and eastern AZ mountains - the high desert places. And the Indian culture, which calls me back to my own history.

Of course, if there's a place in AZ that I would die before I lived there, it would be your home city of Phoenix - my God, what a wasteland. I could live nowhere in that bowl.

Yeahhhh. . . . Some days I think I might die because I made the mistake of breathing.

Ever see the cloud of brown shit hanging over this valley? shudder

Oh yeah! Every time I would drive back up to the airport from Tubac (where my mother lived) I would hate approaching the bowl and seeing the brown haze over the city. I felt like I needed a gas mask to be ready for re-entry. I hated that drive on I-10 once I got about halfway between Casa Grande and Chandler.

The longest I have lasted in Phoenix, before starting to suffer pretty severe medical consequences, has been two days - and only then because I was there for a funeral.

But the rest of the state - well, I love it.

Ah, well now I don't feel so like a medical curiosity. When I first visited here it hurt excruciatingly just to breathe - so I would try to keep the air away from my nose, mouth, & lungs, by breathing really shallowly. Sucks for either yoga or for singing. In fact, it was 2 years before I could adapt to the air enough to get a breath to sing on, so as to sing without pain and forcing. My teacher didn't believe me when I told her it was because of the weather, saying "But it's like this every week," and I said, "YES! because of the weather!!!"

I am now finally adapted to breathing clouds of brown haze.

Yes, I know exactly the drive you are talking about, and believe me, when you know your house is down in there, man! Is it disgusting!!

New question:

What is your FAVORITE thing to do? Like anytime you have a chance, youll do it?

mjules
08-21-2007, 10:57 PM
1. Where do you live?
- Fort Mill, SC, on the old PTL property. No kidding.

2. What is your favorite place in the world?
- Ireland. I buried my heart in Galway and I really wanna go back to get it someday.

3. How old are you?
- Twenty-five.

4. What is your favorite restaurant?
- Er, Liu Liu's, probably? It's a local Chinese restaurant that has very good, very fresh food.

5. Whats good in your life right now?
- Aw, what a nice question. Um? I have really nice friends, and there's a possibility I'm going to be promoted soon at work.

6. Is there someone in your life that you would die for?
- A couple, yeah. My Mom, for one, but she'd be pretty upset if I did.

7. Mac, Windows, or Linux?
- Well, I use a Mac. Windows is cheaper.

8. What would you consider to be the most important thing you have learned in life?
- That God is love, and all the trickle-down theories that follow that.

9. If you had to do it over again, what would you do differently?
- Depends on what 'it' is. Maybe I wouldn't break up with my first girlfriend out of religiously induced guilt, or maybe I wouldn't have gotten engaged to my ex-fiance, but honestly, I learned valuable lessons from everything I've gone through, and I'd hate to lose that wisdom due to something as simple as a do-over. I don't think I've really done anything I would want to change.

10. Favorite U.S. State?
- I have a very soft spot in my heart for anywhere with mountains, especially the Rockies, though the Blue Ridge, the Smokies, and the Appalachians are special, too.

11. Favorite ice-cream flavor?
- Depends on my mood, but fluctuates between green tea and mint chocolate chip.

12. Favorite fruit?
- Fresh cherries, followed closely by ripe strawberries, peaches, and dewberries.

13. When resetting the toilet paper roll... Over, or under?
- Over.

14. would you be doing right now, if you weren't doing this?
- Sleeping?

15. Favorite holiday?
- Autumn equinox. Does that count? No? Valentine's Day.

16. Favorite name for a boy?
- I had plans to name a son Nathanael Elisha, but I also like anything remotely Irish-sounding. Connor, Brendan, Ian, etc. I will confess to a weakness for 'Phoenix.'

17. Favorite name for a girl?
- Jubilee has topped my list for a while, but I also like varying forms of names that shorten to Kat or Kate or Katie, Bridget, and Julia. I'm fond of the name Brianna for other reasons entirely. :good:

18. If you could star in any movie, which one?
- Any movie that's already been made, or...? If they ever made a movie of Francine Rivers' "Redeeming Love," I think I'd like to be in that one. I haven't read it in a while, but I seem to remember loving her take on the story of Hosea and Gomer.

19. What do you usually think about before you fall asleep at night?
- What I have to do the next day.

20. What is your greatest fear?
- You mean other than being buried alive? Perhaps... being completely and utterly alone.

21. By what characteristic/trait/endeavor/occupation do you identify yourself?
- My Irishness.

22. what's your most IRRATIONAL fear?
- Ah, so this is where being buried alive comes in. Although, really? My most irrational fear? Losing the sun.

23. Song/musical group you hate to admit you like?
- It galls me to admit that I have a soft spot for Christina Aguilera, but dear goodness the woman has an amazing set of pipes! Her cover of John Lennon's "Mother" is very, very moving.

24. You're a family of how many? (how many people do you live with...)
- Um, live with? Just me and my cat. But my parents live next door, so...

25. What is your FAVORITE thing to do? Like anytime you have a chance, you'll do it?
- Read. Anything I can get my hands on, practically. Or if I'm not reading, I'm probably writing.

NEW QUESTIONS!

Is there a certain food or flavor that you strongly identify with?

If you had to define a scent as 'nostalgic,' what scent would it be?

That's funny ... I was gonna say (and now I am saying) the smell of pumpkins ripening in the field was my nostalgic smell.

Fabric-wise, I'm a fan of crisp linen (though I don't wear it cause I HATE ironing) and (call me crazy) wool (yes, like scratchy blanket wool).
