Hi, my name is Rebecca, and I live near Houston with my wife, Margie, or as you know her, pnggrad79. She talks about this forum all the time, so I wanted to see what it was all about. I look forward to being here and getting to know all of you. :)

Oh! Hi Rebecca!!
I saw that you have the same screenname as your wife, who I always call PNG, and I thought: why on earth is PNG introducing herself for the first time NOW???? I had to read the intro twice before I figured out we had the other spouse posting.
So, now we've ensnared both of you in Forumdom, (evil laughter, mwuahahahaha!!!) (This forum can be rather addictive;))
Welcome Rebecca!

Oh, here you are!!
Glad you got your own screenname, or we'd all be confused trying to tell you two apart.
Again, welcome. :)

Friends, if this looks like a mess, it's my fault. Rebecca posted under Margie's screen name at first, started a new thread under the naytvtxn screen name, then I merged both of them.
I finally edited the title of the thread to reflect that this is indeed the Hello thread for Rebecca (naytvtxn)
carry on.

It really is, isn't it Grandpa Dave?
Yes, thank you!! Now we have Margie and Rebecca... just have to remember which is which.... but we'll get it quickly I think. After all, it took a while before Dave would start putting it out there that he is infact Dave... and not just a DOG! Glad to have you here!

Believe me, I know my wife, and if she has something to say she will say it, which isn't often, since I do most of the talking. She really is wonderful and a lot of fun.
U-dog- so PNG was becoming old, huh? Well, sorry, Dave, I hate my real name. It was my father's silly notion to name me after the 50's show, "My Little Margie". EEK!!! I detest my name. Only women who are 80 years old have that retarded name.
My wife's name is beautiful I think. She was named after her grandmother. Rebecca is one of those names that never gets old and always sounds elegant. You will love her. :)

Well if faced with the choice of PING or Margie, I think I would rather Margie. PING just conjures up images of the opposite of PONG, an irritating noise that just won't go away, or the name a sadistic woman might name her child. Does PING look too much like PNG? I guess if you're looking at it quickly, it does. oh well....

You could have been named "Esmerelda" or "Gertrude" or like my grandmother, "Beulah" (can you imagine? ha!) or her sister-in-law, "Doolah"
I, personally, LIKE the name "Margie" It is a very down to earth name. All the Margie's I've known have been strong, caring women with good senses of humor. (I've known 3 of them, in case you were wondering. you are number 4 and you seem to fit the mold)

Thanks U-Dog, I am glad you like my name. Just curious, what were the ages of the Margie's you knew? 80ish? BTW, my grandmother's name was Fannie Bell, and my other grandmother's name was Oma Francis. My mother suggested one time to both my sister and I that we name our first daughter after our grandmothers, combining their names. We came up with Fannie Francis and Oma Bell, and made a joke out of it, arguing which one would name their daughter one of those names. Turns out I had two girls and my sister had two boys. She lucked out and there is no way I would have named my two girls those awful names. I loved both of my grandmothers dearly, but luckily I got to call them grandma instead of their name. EEK!

One was a college roomate of my sister (which would put her in her mid 60's) The other two were baby-boomers a year or five older than I am (so mid-fifties).
You could have named your daughter Oma Fannie !!!!!:rofl::laughing::laughing::rofl::rofl: Your last name isn't Hertz is it?
Is it too late?? Maybe you could change one of them!!!

I was ALMOST Helen Pauline (after my grandmothers), but someone finally found the mind they nearly lost, thank God! Margie is kinda nice actually...

Or, you could be from a Welsh family, where vowels are optional. Both my brother and grandfather were Taliesin, I have an uncle Dai, and among Dad's aunts and uncles were Aunt Myfanwy and Uncle Gwyllm. I should say, however, that I'd be proud to wear any of these names (well, Myfanwy would be a challenge) ... though I would not have felt that way as a child. I am the only child in my family not to be named after an ancestor (ran out by kid six) ... I have occasionally toyed with the idea of going by the Welsh version of my (Irish!) first name: Bryn.

Oma Fannie??? Please!!!
This morning, my oldest daughter came into the living room while in the process of getting ready for work and I said, "You almost ready, Fannie Frances?" She glared at me and said, "I swear if you had named me that, when I got to be 18, I would change my name so quick..." then huffed off. Then my youngest came in, laughing at me and I said, "Stop laughing, Oma Bell, you would have gotten an awful name, too." She said, "And I would have worn it with pride and beat up anyone who made fun of me"
No my last name is not Hertz! LOL!!!:lol::lol:
