I'm a college students at NWC up in N St Paul MN.
I thought this site was really cool, it's some place to some and see that we are not alone. It would be really cool to connect with other college students and talk about how everything is, because lets face it, it's not easy to be a gay male, or lesbian, and go to a christian college.
But Hi and Its cool to be here.
(gosh could that sound any more corny?)

There's a lot of people who feel the way you do, and who are in the same situation you are in.
One thing I learned to do a long time ago was to stop feeling guilty about feeling guilty -- or feeling bad about about feeling bad. ('cuz technically, since God is in control of all, why feel bad about what's real?) Thus is the challenge of life.
Don't get me wrong, it's still a challenge, but get to the part where it REALLY a challenge before settling on the thought that it's "corny."
I guess to put it as plainly as possible, you're perfectly welcome to feel corny here, and express yourself as such.
We pretty much don't judge here, unless you're judgemental, and even then we feel guilty and confront each other on judging...
I hope you know what I mean. :D

Hi Jesse,
Welcome to the forums. It is a sad fact that Christian churches and institutions are probably the most unwelcoming places. I went to a Christian (Lutheran) college. (No need to mention how many years, I mean decades ago.) In those days being gay would automatically mean expulsion. A coworker of mine had a son a just a few years younger than I who was expelled.
I think that today it is a least some better. Progress is being made.
Please let us know more about you. Don't worry about sounding "corny". If you look on these forums and see the nonsense we middle-aged guys have posted, everything else sounds inteligent and erudite. :D

Hi Jesse, welcome.
This is the right place to say corny things, and sappy things, and sentimental things, and downright whacky things.
:p
Stick around.
Hi Jesse.
Welcome. You're going to have to do much better than that to qualify as corny here. You are among friends, all's that's left is to realize it and enjoy.
glad you've joined us.

Jesse- I was raised in the Mpls area, graduated from Armstrong Hi, went to Bethel College for awhile. Searched for my soul in the parks of Mpls, trying to connect with the gay soul inside my being. Terrified others would find out and join me in my self-hatred. You are brave and smart to come out while you are young, my friend.
I have 4 children now in and out of college. I guess it's never too late, and no life lived is wasted, but I wonder when I hear from guys like you, how my life would have been different if I had declared the truth about myself back then.
No life is ever wasted. You will have your own set of trials, as I will also. Do not be afraid of what God has made you for. Be accepted by others and by the one who made you. NWC has much to learn about the ways of life and love and the One who made it all.
Perhaps you can be a voice to some of my family back there who are wondering what the freak has happened to me. I just came out in Jan07 and the banana's are still flying through the fundamentalist fan of my extended family. I have no idea how they will ever understand.
Peace and grace to you, brother,
Grant
