Has anyone seen the movie Stardust yet? It's a grown up children's movie, with witches and flying pirates and magical stars and murderous princes... but the best part was that one of the flying pirates, the captain of the ship, played by Robert De Niro, a very principle character, who is FANTASTICALLY GAY. I mean, o my goodness it was hilarious. I suggest everyone go see it, its sort of princess brideish only not quite, but still very good. The closest thing they get to calling Captain Shakespeare, De Niro, gay is one of his pirates says, "We always knew you were a woozy..." It is a funny movie and I suggest you see it as soon as possible!

I want to go see it, but haven't yet. The movie I really want to see is the Golden Compass which comes out this december. I mean the trailer makes me euphoric :D.

If it is anything like The Princess Bride I have got to see it. I love The Princess Bride. I've seen it like 50 times. We even did it for a school play.

Dave, sorry for not picking up on it when you mentioned it before. Actually I have sort of a standard policy of ignoring your posts. I sleep better at night if I do.

I quote the Princess Bride without warning ... I've caught more than a few unsupsecting and uninformed people off guard with "It's possible ... pig."

I also (in college, when this sort of thing was excusable) had an answering machine message that said (in a reasonable Mandy Patinkin imitation): "Hallo, my name is Inigo Montoya. You called my number. Prepare to leave a message." I thought it was funny at the time.

"I do not think that word means what you think it does"

Inconceivable!

You realize, of course, that we're every bit as bad as the teens, don't you? Actually, we're way worse. They're at least young and cute, and therefore easier to forgive.

I see no one has bothered to finish this quote from the stunningly handsome, brilliantly intellectual, exceedingly humble Pablo.
Just don't take this thread into the fire swamp.

We'll never survive!!

You only say that because no one ever has!

Now that Stardust had come out on DVD and one can get it from Netflix, I must say that Austin was right; this is an awesomly good movie. It is a well-done fantasy tale that is not overdone, with very interesting characters and a satifying story line.

Put in in your Netfilx queue right now!

Just what are you waiting for? Go!

I got it for Christmas; what a sweet movie. Don't miss the deleted scenes and extras, some of them are quite entertaining.

Did anyone else notice a striking resemblance between the snobbish rival for the girl's hand, and Westley from the Princess Bride? For me, it made the wink at the end of the movie even more entertaining.
