Hi

My name is Graham Watson. I first want to let you all know that there are a few straight people out there that support you. Straight, such an odd word. It seems strange that we have to fold love into a label of either straight, Gay or whatever. I really don't know why people cannot just accept that love is love, no matter what your gender is, or the gender of your partner.

Anyway now that I have that off my chest let me tell you a bit more about me. I am happily married. I work in an accounting center, somewhat unhappily right now, lol. I am doing this job to keep money coming in until I can achieve my dream of being a full time writer. I like to look on the bright side of things and feel sure that I will be a full time writer. It may or may not happen, but ah well we shall see.

I attend a Gay affirming church in nashville and have many friends there. I think they are just wonderful people and just cannot understand why everyone cannot see this.

Well I guess I have said enough, just wanted to introduce myself.

Graham

Hiya, welcome

:)

Yeah, I don't get why people don't see it either.

Thanks for posting. Do you know about Seven Straight Nights? I don't think there's an event in Nashville, is there? Anyway, thought you would be interested in looking at the straight "ally" events. I'm organizing the one in Phoenix, AZ, but there are 25 cities involved.

Hi, Graham! What a nice introductory post!

Thank you so much for saying "hi". If we're to get anywhere, we need to realize that this movement, this organization needs the full participation for all identities -- gay, straight, and in between. Thank you for being willing to participate here.

I'm very glad you're here.

Welcome, Graham, from another of the "straight" participants in this forum. Along with David's "gay, straight, and in between", I would like to add that this site is also quite tolerant of those of us who are bent.

Look forward to hearing more from you.

Hi Graham,
welcome.

When I first came out the people who came to my side as friends were "straight" people (I didn't know any "gay" people). They were kind and supportive when I was pretty alone. I was blown away. Coming from a background that considered being gay as "broken" at best, it meant a great deal to have people in my life who accepted me for who I am, especially straights. I guess I expect to have my 'gayness' accepted by other gays, but it really helps one escape years of homophobia to have non gays acceptance. Thank you for caring enough to care.

Hi all

Wow, thank you all for the extremely warm welcome. I do appreciate it. I wish all people were as welcoming of everyone else. I think this world would be a much better place if we could all just accept and even embrace the differences in one another. It is our differences that make each and everyone of us special. God made us all different for a reason and to fight against that is very foolish.

I don't know if I mentioned in my earlier post but I have been working on my first novel. It is a Gay affirming Christian fantasy novel. I am just trying to ruffle as many feathers as I possibly can, lol. I would love to get the right wing christians talking about it and spinning in circles over it, lol. I pray that God sees fit to bless me with it being well known.

Anyway be sure to look out for future posts. I am going to spend some time around this forum seeing what I can poke my nose into, lol. I do have an opinion on just about everything and I so like for everyone to hear it, lol, but I do try to be nice about it.

Thanks again

Oh I have never heard of seven straight nights, but I do intend to check it out.
