I tried to resist. Really I tried. We had 150 already, taking over the shelves, the chairs, the dresser, the bed.
But you see, there he was, gazing at me, eyes sadly asking: wasn't I going to pick him up, march him up to the cash register, and bring him home?
Yes, another plush friend. . . the world's softest bear. He had been gazing at me from an endcap in the grocery store for a solid month. Every week I would walk past, pick him up, and drop him back on the shelf thinking, with 150 plush animals, why buy another bear?
Finally, I lost. The bear won. And now he's home! :D:lol::love:

Zerbie, the question is, has this become a problem in your life? Maybe they have 12-step groups for this somewhere? If it's not a problem, ENJOY, I'm sure the bear will.
Can you post a picture for us?

:o:p Well, if this doesn't stop at some point DH and I will have to move into a tent in the backyard because the plush animals will have taken over the house. But you don't dare voice a complaint, 2 against 151. With all of hubby's carnivorous animal pals, we'd be goners. (I blame it all on hubby - when we got married, I had THREE stuffed animals. Just 3.)
*Can* post a picture? Good question. Can I?!
I would love to post bragging pics of our plush children. We have taken so many photos of our animal friends. :p I'm not sure when I'm going to learn how to post pics.

He wanted to be named in honor of two of our gentlest forum members who have done wonderful things for our 7SN event in Phoenix.
His name is Paul/Pablo. He responds to either version of his name. :dove:

Paul told everyone that I was organizing the Phoenix event, and then everyone went to the website and donated. One of the forum members who donated was Pablo.

Ya see, I kept looking at this bear because the expression on his face was so gentle and sweet. I thought, like our Pablos. He has to be named for them. :p

Thanks, Jen!
Took hubby forever to notice the new bear in the house today. Can hardly blame him. Finally he saw Paul/Pablo, picked him up and said "Who is this? Where'd he come from?"
So I told hubby about my weeks of struggle to resist adopting our baby bear, and hubby just laughed and said "You lost!" I was like, yep, I lost. :p Bear won. :D
Anyway, Pablo Bear has already made himself quite at home with our other bears and the rest of the plush menagerie. There is no longer any question of "justifying" him - he's family now and forever.:rainbow:

Also done. :)
One of the things I really enjoy about living in this neighborhood. . . this afternoon just before sunset I thought I heard and glimpsed a horse in the street in front of the house. Stepped outside and sure 'nuff, actually, two horses (with riders) were ambling relaxedly down the street. I just mumbled to myself, "Another reason to like living here," thought I would mention it to you later, and continued prepping dinner. :)
Zerbie's the best aint she yall? How do you fit 151 bears in your house????
:p:lol: Well, they are not ALL bears.
I did a count a while back and posted the (then current) numbers on the forum. I've gotten about 3 more bears since then, and several more animals of other varieties. Most of them are bunnies. I think I have about 30 or 35 bunnies. I'm guessing bears probably come in second. We also have a lot of dogs and cats of various kinds, birds, reptiles, dinosaurs, several giraffes, 3 horses. But only one zebra and only one okapi. Also only one mountain goat, who I finally named Bacchus after a short period of time debating calling him Scotty.
They live on nearly every surface in this house: all over the computer desk, bookshelves, the living room chairs, on top of the sofa, lined up on top of the TV stereo speakers, on top of the dresser, on the bed. . . it does make dusting and vacuuming a tremendous pain, because there are so many family members to be picked up and moved aside so that I can dust, or run the vacuum. That's the only downside to having so many. That and, sometimes it's hard to find a place to sit because you have to move them in order to get into a chair. :o :lol::lol:

38 bunnies.
17 bears.
I am not about to take the time right now to do a census count of all the others. I'm guessing the kitty cats and puppy dogs have numbers close to what the bears have.
We also have roughly 4 or 5 each of frogs, elephants, dinosaurs, giraffes. . . oh, I'll count them some other time.

You're a non-drinker, aren't you? Bacardi 151 ... 151 proof, which is 75.5% alcohol content ... packs a MAJOR wallop! In fact, it's illegal in many places.

Oh.
Yeah, I can't drink any alcohol at all. Insta-sick. One half glass of wine burns the surface of my skin all over my body for 24-36 hours. Plus severe nausea and dizziness for the same amount of time. Alcohol is just NOT on my radar screen.
But teddy bears. . . that's another story. :p

Better choice ... never heard of anyone getting a DUI-TB ... or DT's from no stuffed bear. (Ok, U-Dog and others ... do NOT take the easy bear jokes here).

Just showing up late here to congratulate you on your newest family member!
I've lost count of how many plush family members I have, though not nearly as many as you have! I love that you have so many! I have three little zebras, several bunnies (!!!), several polar bears, a lizard named after Eddie Izzard, a "computer mouse" that sits on my printer, and many others ... : )

Yayyy bunnies! Yayyyy bears! Yayyy zebras, etc.
We only have one zebra - due to his personality, we don't dare get another zebra. He'd be crushed. He likes being special. :)

My lizard also likes being the only lizard ... but my zebras all came in together as a family of sisters so they're fine with being part of the group ... : )

Oh my, how I have missed this place!! Life has been so busy, and in transition constantly for the last two months solid. Seems as if all is settling in now, so I wanted to come around and congrats to you, Zerb, and DH, on your new addition. Our daughter has a collection that is comparable in size, and every time we think we are NEVER going to get her a new one, a cute, needy, lovable something or other shows itself to us, and we just HAVE to do it!!!
Enjoy your menagerie! :love::love::love:
Gee,
I just read that Zerbie and DH named their 153rd kid after me and Pablo.
I'm honored:D.

151st (though I'm sure we'll reach 153 someday despite our intentions of slowing down the acquisitions. It's like a toy store in here.)
I think Pablo has read this thread, yes. Paul Bear is very honored to share your name - it was his idea to be named for you guys. He asked me to be named Paul when we were still at the store and hadn't even paid for him yet.
