My name is Jack. I am, first a Christian and secondly, Gay. I have been in the MCC church since 1980, St Louis, MO church. I moved to Florida 4 years ago and joined St John the Apostle MCC in Ft Myers, FL. Now I reside in Havana, FL and attend Salem United Methodist Church. It is very accepting of our life style.
I come from a Pentecostal back ground. Attended Pentecostal Bible Institute in Tupelo, MS and graduated with a Christian Education degree. I acknowledge many of the experiences of pentecost but not the rigid man made rules. I found it necessary to move on to a church that teaches real love of God for ALL mankind.
My lover of 17 years left me 5 years ago and I thought my life would fall apart but God pulled me up and gave me NEW life. There is no hate in my heart for what happened. I had 17 wonderful years with a great man. He now has passed on.
I am now in the begining of a new relationship of 5 months. My new friend is 12 years my junior. He is HIV+ and I am HIV-. Any words of advise or incouragement would be welcomed.
