Hypocrisy at Oral Roberts U

Lest anyone try to tell you that the leadership at Oral Roberts is morally above reproach... Pam's House Blend puts that one to rest (http://www.pamshouseblend.com/showDiary.do?diaryId=3190).

There must be a bad connection on the hotline between Oral Roberts University President Richard Roberts and the Man Upstairs. Somehow Roberts, who is also chief executive of the socially conservative college, got the idea that donations to shape young fundie minds of tomorrow were supposed to go into his bank account.

God is also apparently telling him to deny all allegations in a lawsuit that has a breathtaking litany of charges. They are quite sleazy (something we're all too familiar with at this point when it comes to these bible-beating hypocrites).

Presented for matters of fact only... mainly I feel sad for the students, who are being brainwashed by people who don't even believe the brainwashing they're dishing out.

Well, I usually spend as little time as possible staying in touch with what televangelists and similar are doing, but what you've shown here is definitely over the top.

I do remember one piece that I read some years back, that was making the point that Billy Graham was the only one of the lot who was obviously NOT lining his pockets. The piece said that Graham drove a five year old Mercury, and paid himself 20,000 dollars a year. (I said this was some years back) I trust that he is still living a modest lifestyle.

Wasn't Oral Robert the one who said God would call him home if he didn't raise a million dollars or something? If a TV preacher said that now, I would call the toll-free number and say "Ok, well, hug St Peter's neck for me and tell Jesus 'hey'."

Hmm hypocrisy you say? Does anyone remember his former wife, Patti Roberts who divorced him after a tension filled marriage in the early 70's or 80's? I bet he would like to sweep her under the proverbial carpet. They are all hypocrites with as many skeletons in their closets as the one I stepped out of 3 years ago...
