Yesterday morning, Sat Oct 6th, hubby and I spoke about 7SN Phoenix on the radio for close to an hour. I thought it was a good show.

We come on in the second segment of the show, which is about 12 minutes into the program.

And here is the link for a second show that I interviewed on: it's Equality Arizona's show on National Coming Out Day.

I didn't get nearly enough as much time to talk about 7SN as on Walt's show, but I did manage to get a few words in. On this one, I come on in the third segment, about 30 minutes into the show.

The highlight of this show, for me, was a call-in from one of our regular forumites. :D:)

I was literally checking things off in my mind that you all didn't forget to say...

Despite the choir preaching format, I was extremely pleased with the ground that was covered, and in the way that it was covered.

Just to be clear about one thing though, was this Bill's line about homophobia?:

mild and selective form of xenophobia.

That's a keeper, and a lesson.

Like many things that were said in that interview, It's an image to remember, But that image reframes the "debate."

Which is a reminder, that even preaching to the choir can be tremendously effective.

Thanks Emp!!!

:D

I was so scared I would clam up and not say ANYthing.

No, I'm pretty sure the "selective xenophobia" statement came from Jeff, the other guy on the show - I'm not sure who he is, except that he provides commentary on a lot of Walt's shows.

Anyway - yea, I was really pleased that we touched on so many issues. For my terrified first time on the air, it couldn't have been a more pleasant experience.

Too much to comment on, I'm gushing on the inside.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Blank! I can’t wait to meet you! You sound just as fun as you do online. And of course Zerbie sounds just as angelic as she looks, and “sounds” online.

And then the next caller was like, “well how can I top that?” That was perfect, great fun.

You're right Zerbie, you got a lot in on this one, your bits were a bit meatier, and welcome bites they were. You brought a liveliness to the show that seemed to stand out -- as well as was with the other show.

Part of it's your voice, then I remembered you are a singer, but there seemed to be a genuineness and sponteneity that shone through.

Well done. You're a natural.

Not that I am in any position to be, but I am proud of you.

You've broken into show business, you'll soon be world famous, and you've got two great demo tapes I just listened to, that your agent can send to colleges and radio stations everywhere.

A whole new career is opening up before you. You will be going on lecture tours across the country (yeah, I know, some people call this the rubber chicken circuit), you will be standing in line at airport security so long you'll have varicose veins to well above your tan line, and you will be suffering from jet lag and lost luggage more than you ever thought possible. Pat Robertson or James Dobson will be there with a large group of protesters screaming and waving signs to greet you wherever you go, and every time a hotel loses your reservations you'll end up sleeping two to a single bed. Fred Phelps will personally bring libel suit against you, for slandering his religious beliefs, and maybe the Bible too.

Whenever you fly over Tulsa, or other parts of the bible belt, you may notice occasional anti-aircraft fire directed at you.

We must all support our brave straight allies for all of the pain and suffering that they go through on our behalf.

Yay, Zerbie!

Ok, yes, I called in to the show 2nd show. It was a blast calling in from Disneyland and suprising Z! :D I didn't get to hear the 2nd caller, I hung up after my call as the line I was in got close to the ride.

But the real superstar in all of this is Z!!! :award::applause::cookie: I can tell you that she is an excellent speaker and did a wonderful job. I'm definitely going back and listening to the first show, and revisiting the 2nd.

Zerbie, you are really putting so much thought, work, heart and dedication into the Phoenix 7SN event - it's going to be a blast!!!! And that goes for DH too! You have to be sure and post all about it!!
