View Full Version : When you google your own name

Your actual 3D name, not your username, what kinda stuff comes up?

Maybe this is whacky, but it really seems to me that there are patterns as to the types of results that come up for a particular name.

Mine for instance, I don't have a website, so I'm buried many pages deep - hits on many professor's, writers, researchers, philosophers, and musicians.
My husband's name hits on inventors, scientists, programmers. . . .

Is there something in a name??:lol:

Anyway - what comes up when you google your name?

I found that I declared bankruptcy in Alabama in 1885, and am written about in the book Cases Determined in the United States Circuit Courts for the Eighth Circuit By John Forrest Dillon. Wow, why don't I remember this?

From a New York Times article dated May 17, 1896, I found that I defrauded the government by means of fake customs papers and was released on $5000 bond. This explains the state of my checkbook.

In late 2006, I co-authored a paper - Montmorillonite clay-catalyzed hetero-Diels–Alder reaction of 2,3-dimethyl-1,3-butadiene with benzaldehydes - with several other equally intelligent (?) chemists from DePaul University, while concurrently being a student and cheerleader at the University of Oklahoma and graduating from the University of Dundee in England. The jet lag was a killer.

In 2001, I was found not to be a "responsible party" in the tax debt of one Pasco Optical. Blood from a turnip applies, anyway.

In 2000, I was issued a patent for a spectacle lens retension devise, later bought by Luxottica Eyewear. This is why I live so high on the hog.

OMG, I died in 1887. Woe is me.

In 1990, I won $445,965.68 in the Florida lottery. Pissed it away on wild living, if I remember.

On Dec 21, 1864, I was mustered out of the 46th Regiment of the Indiana Volunteer Infantry. Maybe the wild living created a problem.

Now, in actual fact, one of these is truly about me. Hmmm, go figure.

well......me.

I have an anglicized European last name, curtesy of Ellis Island, which means that it's often mispronounced. It does, however, make it easier to find me.

Boring. Only one name match and the link won't open. I guess I'll just have to do something worth putting online.

For the record, I'm an architecht (with a penchant for glass structures, who sadly died in 2004, but I'm feeling much better now), a video-game character, a cable guy, an anthropologist interested in Florida's native american history (under my married name, apparently, adding a -Weisman), a chaplain at the City Mission, a researcher into the interaction of antidepressants and osteoporosis, the October 2005 Student-athlete of the month at Vanderbilt University (not bad for a year after my death), both the plaintiff and the respondent in a lawsuit (Brent v. Richards, no wonder I'm so conflicted), a competitor in the Rock Star Rail Jam (some type of extreme skiing thing of which I seem to have no memory, maybe I fell and hit my head), an expert in sustainable design (despite the fact that I can't even tell you what that is), and a realtor (which should come in handy soon)...

Another fun take on this is to enter your name at www.googleism.com ... though when I do this, the first two hits are actually me, one of them in my "former life" with an ex-gay ministry ... thought I'd erradicated all that!

I have children (the 2 legged variety) and live in Louisiana, am an artist, knit, in 1945 I served on a submarine (dang, I AM butch!), am a realtor, I was in the movie Some Like it Hot (well..possibly the poster mis-spelled the actual actor’s name…).

I’m a blogger, oh, and a recording artist, I’m a state LIHEAP director (can someone please tell me what that is??), I’m some kind of legal coordinator/legal faculty at Northwestern, I co-authored a book about the Australian frilled lizard, and I spoke at a Fraud committee meeting as the Supervisor of the CA Dept of Insurance, SIU Compliance Office.

Only one of these is actually me. ;):p:D Hint, I have no human children!

Pretty boring line up tho, other than the submarine thing. :(

It that Andrew with those great abs?

I can't tell for sure - perhaps my vision isn't good enough. A BIGGER picture would help. I think it is someone else.

Besides, those abs are a perfect six-pack. Mine are approaching a case.

Tim Morris 1974-2005

Thu 15 Feb '07 by Scott

On Friday 16th February it will be two years since we lost our friend and drummer Tim Morris in a tragic workplace accident.

Since Tim’s death in 2005, over £18,000 has been raised in his name for the charity MSF. A small portion of this money was raised from our tribute gig in 2005 and sales of our acoustic album ‘Morris’, so many thanks to those of you who bought that record. There are still copies available for a very reasonably priced £4 and you can buy it from this site by following the links in the releases section. All of the money from the sale goes to the charity. For more info about MSF you can visit www.msf.org

Although there are no words left to say that haven’t already been said about Tim, we just want him to know that we’re thinking of him, not just on 16th but every day…

You seem pretty sure, young lady. Did you have anything to do with this abomination? I mean, really, I look dreadful in that color.

BTW, Brent darling, we need to talk. I thought what happened in your little den of iniquity stayed there. Don't make me pull out the pictures of you in the crotchless waders holding on to your rod ... and reel.

Back to the question:

My last name comes up as the owner of an Asia porn site. Dead serious. It's when I use Kim, not Kimberly, as the first name.

When I use Kimberly, there's a female Pastor by my name and a woman who works in a school caffeteria (sp).

When I use Kimberly, my full middle and last name, it come up unpublished novelist: which is right.

I've often wondered how many friends and relatives have found that porn site and thought I run it.
