I'm not saying this because of anything that has happened... just because it needs to be said. We have a number of new younger members on the forums.
REMEMBER TO BE SAFE ON THE INTERNET ... EVEN HERE ON SOULFORCE!!
The vast majority of the folks here (maybe all of us !!) are healthy, caring, responsible people with the welfare of kids close to our hearts. Many of us are parents, mental health providers, pastors etc. But that doesn't mean that there might not be lurkers around with bad intentions.
If you get any PMs or e-mails that make you feel uncomfortable ... notify one of the moderators IMMEDIATELY (that would be Jamie McDaniels, Keltic63, and NathanATX) They are trustworthy and will check out whats going on!

yeah. I just got a pm from some creep named "brent" if that's his real name!
In all seriousness, YOUNG FOLKS, listen up. If you get something inappropriate in a pm, please let a moderator know.

Here is the contact info for the trevor project again in case there are other glbt youth who need/want to call them:
The Trevor Project was established to promote tolerance for gay and questioning teenagers, and to aid in suicide prevention among that group. They have a 24-hour, toll-free anonymous suicide prevention hotline for gay and questioning teens.
1-866-488-4386.
I don't think that you have to be suicidal to call. If you are feeling under a lot of pressure and just need someone to "bounce" your situation off of ... thats enough reason to call.

I was giving out resources at my presentation yesterday, and a couple of the hotlines I had for LGBTQ youths aren't even 24 hour ones. I am glad this one is around. I will DEFINITELY pass it on......

Hey ya'll: why don't we make this information a 'sticky' at the top of the page?

Couldn't we put it in the "Emergency Numbers" section at the top of the forum page - you know the one that says "Error 404: Page Not Found" when you click on it.
Ahem - moderators - shouldn't there be at least one emergency number in there?

... because we still don't have emergency numbers on the "Emergency Numbers" link, and we have at least one young man right who may need one really badly.
I'm also going to "self report" this post to the moderators, to make sure it isn't overlooked.
PLEASE give our young people who are in dire need some emergency contact information that is really, really easy to find. PLEASE!

And already yer out ta be a big-time doo-gooder. It's a good thing that they will have you safely *Installed* in a church, soon. Keep ya off the streets.
Well, thanks, Andy, some of our browsers and members need all the help they can get, especially the young ones.
Peace and Love, Bruce Chris

The Emergency numbers link is fixed now. It worked fine elsewhere on the site, but the forums template had a typo in it. Thanks for letting me know.

It's interesting to find this... a thread pointing something out to the kids... and this is the first time I noticed it.
It is a good reminder though, thanks.

I hadn't noticed this before now. Thanks so much, Jamie.
And, Bruce, my old pal, just for the record, what would be wrong with me being on the streets? Are you insinuating the streets wouldn't be safe if I were on them? I'll have you now I have never hurt a street in my life - oh, well, maybe once, but I was a drunk then.
And as for being a do-gooder - healing of my kharma requires it - I have an awful lot to make up for.
