So the Santiago Canyon fire, one of like 12 horrible wild fires burning across So Cal right now, is about well... less than walking distance to my house. We've got everything packed up into the cars and we're basically waiting to see if the police issue an evacuation notice for my neighbor hood. This is really scary, so please pray for the firefighters so they can get all the fires under control soon. If I don't show up for a while its probably because I won't have an internet connection or electricity for a while. I'll keep ya'll informed... thanks

The fire by my house is apparently arson, which is really aggravating and scary, cause that means that the people who started could feel like starting others. Not to mention that my house is on Santiago Canyon road, which has now been officially shut down, so I won't be able to go to school tonight. But at the moment, we are all still safe.

Still breathing, we've been given a formal evacuation notice. Gotta run, I'll check back in when I can, thanks for the prayers, they are very comforting.

I heard some news this morning about how many thousands of people have been evacuated. Many have lost their homes already. Austin, be safe, and I pray your home is spared.

My husband's 83 year old mother lives in North County San Diego, where the Witch Fire is buring it's way to the sea. As of this morning, there is an advisory evacuation in her area. She lives on the east end of Encinitas- about 3 miles from the coast. So far- she's Ok.
Here's a map of the area from Union Tribune as of this morning. Basically, the Witch Fire is following a lower lying area surrounded by hills that runs towards the sea- Rancho Santa Fe and Solana Beach- where my guy grew up.
Over 500 homes have already burned in the area.

Austin:
You and the others affected by these fires are in my thoughts and prayers. I will be sending out prayers for you, your family, your friends, your students, your community, and even any arsonists who have exaccerbated the situation, that they might learn that they don't need to do that, that they have a heavenly father who will provide for them and show them how to build fulfilling lives. I cover you and all those affected with the blood of Jesus for your protection.
Love,
Meghan

Here's an excellent site from a resident in the area- who lives very close to my mother-in-law.

My house was spared. They had to use the pool in back to help fight some of the fire it was that close but it looks like there is no structural damage. The firefighters let us come home about 5 this morning, so this is all good news. It looks like only one home was lost back here, which makes me so very grateful. Now I'm going to try to go to school. Thanks for your prayers. We all can keep praying for the rest of them.

By day three, the dozen wildfires had burned more than 1,000 homes and set 245,957 acres —384 square miles — ablaze, and the destruction may only be the start for the region. Tuesday’s forecast called for hotter temperatures and more explosive Santa Ana gusts.
(alright, I only read that part that I quoted.... but there's information for those who are keeping track of what's going on... I care, but I don't like to read.)

I am thankful for Austin's safe return home, as well as his neighbors. I also add my prayers for the others waiting to see which way the fires will go. I am grateful for what I have without that fear for myself today.....:love:

Austin! :love::pray::love::pray:
This is a horrible tragedy and I can't even being to imagine being in its midst. Over 500,000 people are evacuated, that is incredible. I'm trying to get in touch with my Grandma but they are about 20 miles from Malibu so probably safe and fine. Just not answering the phone.
I read an article today about the rescuers trying to get the animals/livestock out safely. The San Diego area that is burning is a huge area for horses and ranches, it's been very difficult as no one is prepared to take more than a couple or possibly 6 at a time. They are scrambling to get trailers together and try and rescue horses. An officer did manage to rescue a pet bird from a house where the owners had no time to deal. The bird was safe.
There was a lady on GMA this morning talking about someone who was in line at Target behind her. The lady got her information and ended up bringing clothes for the teenaged daughter. This lady was also affected by the fire but was kind enough to think of the girl and bring her clothing.
Glad you're safe Austin. Praying for everyone down there!

Ummm... I don't know that the deal is because I've only read something from my cousin, but is did say "my house is ablaze"... I don't believe her because I would've heard it from someone else by now, but I hadn't even really thought about it before... yikes.

Since I was in the same situation as you are during the Paradise fire and again in the Pioneer Complex fire, the former two years ago and the latter last year, in California, I hope that all goes well for you and your family, as well as for your neighbors and those trying to put out these blazes. It is a stressful event, and fires can be so unpredictable.
