So I only have a few minutes before I have to go to bed (early work shift tomorrow), but I wanted to share this here because I can't share it much of anywhere, and, well...

OK, so, long story short: I'm engaged. There's this girl I've been best friends with for a few years, and I'm moving in with her in the spring, and in the midst of discussing moving plans, we both just sort of came to the realization that, you know what? We should get married. We understand each other and care for each other more than anyone else in our lives, and we tend to be in all of the other's future plans, and.... well.

So, yay? The date is still a ways off, mainly because our marriage still isn't legally recognized in our soon-to-be home state (NY) and we wanted a fun date - October 10, 2010 (10/10/10). But you know, the commitment's already there. It'll just be the paper that waits that long. So, yeah. That's all I had to say.

Congratulations to your and your betrothed. (Could I sound any more old-fashioned.) This is truly wonderful news.

And moving to NY, eh? I am building a list of people I want to meet face-to-face here in the north-east. Daniel and Brent are right up there on the list, as are others. Would you be interested in a group get-together at some point in the future?

Haha! Old fashioned is fine. We're kind of quirky ourselves.

And hey, I'm always up for meeting new people. :) We're going to be in the Binghamton area. (Well, she already is. I'm moving up in either March or April.)

Cool! We checked out a church in Binghampton, but finally settled on the Albany/Schenectady area. We'll have to see what we can do to set up a Spring Fling, or something.

Aw! Thanks for all the well-wishes. ^_^ And I'll be perfectly glad to meet anyone in the area (even if I have to drag the "WHAT!? New people!? ACK!" fiancee).

Hey Jules, that's fantastic! Congratulations on your exciting news!

Hee! Thanks, everybody! And... pictures!? Erk! We may have a problem. Both the fiancee and myself prefer to be the one taking pictures rather than the one who's in them. But she's kind of obsessed with commemorating everything photographically, so I imagine there will be pictures at some point. :p

(And, yes, Zerbie - you're right. Half the fun is watching everyone else be excited.)

You can post pictures of anyone, we would never know the difference.
Congratulations. It is fun living with someone you love and loves you back. That's been my experience anyway.

Fun and HARD WORK!! Never hesitate to invest in your relationship. Fix problems when they first arise and are still small. The dividends are many and priceless.
