One of the qualms I have about universal healthcare is the concern that the weakest or most disabled will be euthanized (either directly or indirectly) in order to cut down on costs. I don't mind paying more taxes, but the issue referenced above is an entirely different matter.

Although I'm sure that not everyone here agrees with the causes that the NRL supports, I urge you to look past that, as the mainstream media has not covered this aspect of the Children's Healthcare plans(s) CHAMP and SCHIP.

To me, this just supports concerns that if people like Hillary Clinton get elected, there will actually be less rights and more inustice than there is now in this country. I'm not saying that that's true, I'm saying that the fact's I'm observing have lead me to give greater and greater credence to that position.

What can people do to try to eradicate that part of SCHIP and CHAMP so that those bills can be considered as "children's healthcare bills" and not, "bills that will sacrifice the elderly?" In addition to being an evil (sorry, but it IS evil to deprive senior citizens of healthcare when they are severely ill or disabled) measure, this is unfair to the children who could potentially benefit from the enactment of this bill.

What makes me the most angry is that this measure seems intentionally connected with SCHIP and CHAMP so that anyone who opposes those bills (or their reauthorization, as it were), will be easily depicted as a heartless, cruel person who only cares about money. Any legitimate concerns about the elderly will be effectively silenced, allowing the legislature and media to sneak this past the public.
