now that that is done, i found out about soulforce site through the "oh god, i'm gay!" podcast on logo and instantly fell in love with the organization and it's mission. i-- like most of the people here, i presume-- grew up in a conservative evangelical household and i, for as long as i can remember have been gay. this proved problematic especially since my family (parents, sibling, extended family as well) are pastors and very devout in our "non-denominational" circle. only in this past year have i begun to accept and come to terms with my sexuality. i am looking forward to being apart of this community and have thoughtful, engaging discussion.

may you love truthfully and in doing so love fully.

many of us do indeed come from fundamentalist/evangelical backgrounds, but there are many here of other faith communities, even Calvinists :eek:

we also have a sprinkling of Buddhists, Jews, Pagans, and Radical Faeries (shout out to my Scottie!)

Sorry to hear of your background...yes, you'll find quite a few around here who can relate, sadly. On the other hand, you will find acceptance that you are probably un-used to and a place to be your self. That may prove to be a new and strange experience for you, but do take advantage of the safe environment to help establish you. I look forward to getting to know you, Rae.
