Do you google? If not, you should. A girlfriend was bugging me to get on gmail.com for a long time and she finally sold me on it by showing me how powerful google calendars are.

a.m.a.z.i.n.g.

I'm still learning about everything that's available... but everyday I learn something amazing. Any other google'rs? :) Send me an IM and I'll send you my gmail address.

Nate

But is the calendar all it has going for it?

Because my mom just got a macbook, which has an awesome calendar on it that we're using and hotmail has a calendar I think, I just don't use it.

I love google. One of my favorite tools is the Google Reader. Just log into your email and type http://www.google.com/reader

This will allow you to subscribe to news feeds and you can keep in touch with things that interest you. It is really awesome.

I also love the chat feature in gmail. I keep in touch with friends all over the world with chat. Now they have a group feature where you can chat to several friends at once.

Yay Google.

I don't get it because you can do all that with hotmail too... ... as far as I know anyway.

You can always do a pilot test of Google. Just to http://www.gmail.com and you can get a free account.

 I just might do that. Just to see what all the fuse is about, I stick to hotmail though, it's incredibly simple and doesn't lack anything that I can think of! Thanks!

Haven't used reader yet... sounds cool.

Just used chat today... SO COOL! It automatically saves the conversations...

The calendar feature is amazing. I have about seven calendars I manage. :) yay me... well, I have wonderful help...

I sign on to google calendar and update events, add events, etc... and THEN I can share the calendar with the world or with a small group... and I can embed the calendar on my WEBSITES!!! It's pure genius.

Check out the calendars on http://ourhousetoo.mcctulsa.org and www.mcctulsa.org for examples.

One of the craziest, most of this world feature is the ability to pull different calendars together into one calendar... and then you can put THAT calendar on a website.

So if you want to have a calendar on your site with all the animal rights events in your state... it's suuuper easy. :)

Loud enough so that the FundieGelicals can hear you, so that they will start a movement, and pass a law against it. If you get them upset enough, maybe they'll even make it a Constitutional Amendment!

P&L, BC

Come to think of it, there could be some money in it...........

I had a google account for a while before I started using some of the features. I just started my gmail account a few days ago because I'm having trouble with hotmail on my computers at work. gmail will get mail from my home mail account, and I'm still trying to figure out if it will get the mail from my hotmail account.

Google also has a word processor. I've used it a few times.

Because those who did are making out like bandits right now. Sigh...

It's a phenomenon- that's for sure.

The researcher in me loves Books Google. Several major libraries are putting their catalogues online. Can you believe it? Once you find the book you want to read you can search inside it. Cool feature.

So, like a few HOURS after creating this thread, my gmail account was disabled.:eek::eek::mad::mad::mad::eek::eek::eek:  :( :'( :mad: :( :'(

I panicked... but this morning everything was fine.

And now I'm learning how to create a local backup of my mail and calendar.

:o  :D

Yes, but Nate, we both know that at the end of the day, Google will not be the man that you long for... even though he is young and beautiful... like all flings this to will lose it's interest and you'll realize that your true love, Soulforce, is still there for you, through thick and thin.
