So right now is not a good now. There was the most beautiful straight boy at dinner and his girlfriend didn't even care how amazing he was being to her and that was just incredibly frustrating, and it made me feel really lonely. Then apparently my math teacher has lost my final exam, which means I've failed the class, so I now have to convince him that I did take it and deserve an A in the class, which is hard because he really doesn't like me in the first place. I am incredibly frustrated with the management at my work as well because it seemed today that while the rest of the team leads were having a meeting I was left on the floor all by myself, which is a very difficult and busy thing to do in a Target store. Essentially today has just not been a very good day and now isn't the best now it could be so thank you for reading. :(

Hang in the buddy.
Life can be unbearable at times, even if the unbearable stuff is not serious stuff. There are times when things are really bad, or we feel really bad, of sad and lonely. That's when we have to hang on tight. And reach out. You're doing that. Keep doing that.
If there in anything I've learned in my almost 50 years on earth, it's this: the mind goes up, and then the mind goes down. And then it goes up again. Up and down. In some strange kind of rhythm.
I have a friend who plays blues music when she gets down. And there is something good about that. If one is gonna be sad, one might as well really feel that feeling.
Many times I think it's not about changing our feelings, but going through them to the other side.
Peace to you.

Ask your teacher if you can retake the exam. I mean, if he lost it, he ought to compensate somehow and give you the benefit of the doubt. You care enough for it to be an issue, and that should count for something. I am a teacher, and if that happened, I would certainly do what I could to compensate you. I sure wouldn't fail you because of MY mistake. That's just wrong.

I have a friend who could vouch for me, but I can't get in contact with her. I've seen other students fuss with this teacher because he lost their tests and he just won't let you retake it. It just scares me that I won't be able to fix this and then I'll just be stuck with an F on my first ever report card from college, when I've never gotten lower than a B+ in math before. It's so stupid!

If there is a track record of this teacher displaying the same kind of stupid behavior (loosing a student's test is mighty passive-aggressive), go over the guy's head. He must be accountable to somebody. Find that person and make your case. And if that person doesn't help you, go to the President of the school. Walk into the person's office and don't leave until you get an answer or an appointment. And if the teacher tries to penalize you for making making a fuss...make more fuss!
You are paying to go to this school, right? The school is obligated in providing you with an education, not attitude.

I know this won't help now, but why isn't this prof taking attendance, especially on exam day? Given this situation, a prof could simply decide that any particular student s/he doesn't like didn't take the exam and conveniently "lose" the test. I agree with the others. Go. Sit. Don't leave until you have this resolved.

yes! and even if you can't make this work for yourself, when the NEXT student comes along and complains that his test was "lost" a pattern will be obvious.
Paper trail.....;)

I've finally gotten a meeting with the dean for tomorrow... so hopefully we'll be able to straighten all of this out. It's just so exhausting.

Thanks for these insightful words. I needed to read them tonight.
