Stop Bigotry

My associate and I have recently started a movement to hopefully end bigotry in the small town we went to high school in. Bigotry in Battle Ground has become a huge issue and is growing with the youth of the town. Racial jokes and slurs, derogatory terms and phrases about homosexuals, stereotypes about diffrent religions, hate crimes; All of this puts a bad image on the town, and its teaching the youth to be racist, sexist, homophobic and anti-simitic. Battle Ground High school has even been banned from playing sports with certain school due to the students bigotry. We decided it was time to make a change. We started a movement that strives on teaching tolerance in order to abolish bigotry. We hope to hold assembalies in the schools in the Battle Ground district to teach the youth about the risks of oppression, bigotry and intolerance. We will have schedualed workshops to teach staff and parents how to talk to students about these issues. We ran across this site while researching people supporting similar causes and decided to take part. Hopefully we can learn more from you to help us build our cause and hopefully put a stop to Bigotry in our small town of Battle Ground.

Welcome ,

That's quite an undertaking. May you have a patient, persevering spirit. Perhaps you can tell us a bit about your self? I checked out your blog, and there was information about your effort, but not you. You will find us an interested and caring community here, and we'd like to have the opportunity to know you and be your friend.

It's so wonderful that you are taking a stand. It's a great opportunity to educate people about others who are different. Good luck.
