I needed to share this with others before I explode. Not looking for sympathy, just a place to unload.
Tonight is when the family gets together for dinner and gifts. The family being: my parents, brother, sister with her husband and three girls and my husband and me.
Mom just called to tell me my sister received her present from her husband early, the proclamation that he will be leaving her and the girls and moving in with his girlfriend.
I am still in shock, as is the rest of the family. My biggest fear is the fact that my sister has been exposed to STI's now for God knows how long. This affair has apparently been on for some time and I'm certain she is not the only one outside of the marriage bed.
My family is extremely close and we will pull together right now...but wow!!!
My nieces are 15,13 and 8. The oldest is talking of shot guns and justice. The middle one has had a hatred towards her father for years now and the 8 year old loves her daddy very much.
Please send us your prayers. Thanks for listening...I can always count on my Soulforce family.

It's hard to see someone you love hurt and not want to harm the offender. But there may be some consolation. Your brother-in law probably didn't just get this idea. It's likely that he has been out of love with your sister for some time. Better to end the charade than to perpetuate a miserable unhealthy emotional state that cannot help but adversely affect everyone in the household.

Still really stinks, though. Sorry for your misery!:'(
