Hello Everyone!
This is my first time visiting Soulforce, but have heard much about it! Thanks to the audio of Mel White's visit a few years ago with the radio hosts at GCN Radio, I was able to visit Soulforce today, although I'd heard about it from others as well.
I am glad to be here! I don't have much time right now to tell you much about myself since I must leave for work in a half hour, but I am a Sociology Major at Lynchburg College, Lynchburg, VA and have been with my first ever female partner, Ruth, for 2 years (our 2 year anniversary being on Dec. 31st 2007).
It has been a long and hard road, though for the most part the best road I could have traveled. Sure, I wish my mom and dad would be accepting enough to at least talk to me about my sexual orientation with them without it turning into World War III, and I wish they would allow Ruth to come to their house, however, I know that even after I came out to them two years ago, some people never to come to an acceptance of gays, which is sad.
I am happy to have my sexual orientation and faith reconciled and be able to promote love and acceptance to all people just as Mel White has done here at Soulforce.
I hope to get to know everyone here at the Soulforce forums and cannot wait until I'm off of work tonight and can see the messages here people have posted!
God Bless You All,
Mary Beth
