send 'em my way.....

I am visiting my lawyer this afternoon to discuss modifying my custody agreement. The ex has been putting up obstacles to my overnight visits with my youngest son. I didn't want to do this legally, but it looks like I have no other options.

Lord, we lift Keltic up to you today as he goes to see his lawyer about modifying his child custody agreement. We ask that you go before him and prepare the way so that everything happens as you see fit. Give him peace, compassion, understanding and patience. Give his lawyer wisdom and fairness and give his ex wife patience, and compassion as well. This is a tough situation, Father, and we know that you can identify with all our struggles, so Father we ask your blessing on this meeting and all the honor and glory is yours. In Jesus' name we pray--Amen.

Keltic: I am also sending out my warmest thoughts, hugs, and prayers, that all will go well with the lawyer today. The love and dedication you have for your children is why you have to go this route, and even though you have tried to do it in a different way, that way did not work so this is the new approach. Keep your thoughts with your ultimate goal, and remember, that the relationship that you are strengthening withyour children will emerge the victor in the end. Please keep us posted- you are among friends here. Peace, vanessa

You have my heartfelt thoughts and prayers.

My beloved was going through a legal tangle when I met him. Boy. That was hard. Ate up much time, energy and a lot of dough. He prevailed. And I bet you will too.

Your kids have a great dad- one who is ready to fight tooth and nail for them. They- and you- are blessed.

I guess your initial meeting is already over, but here's hoping it went well.

I spent about an hour with my lawyer. we reviewed the options and scenarios. My big question was how best to achieve my goals: ask for primary custody and negotiate to overnight visits on alternating weekends, or simply ask for exactly what I want. My lawyer advised asking for only slightly more than what I truly wanted, and suggested that we go with what is pretty standard in most cases. That schedule is one weekend (friday and saturday nights) alternating, and one weeknight. The psychology of it works well too; it allows my ex to blame the court system, and my son doesn't feel the pressure of having to choose one of us over the other. Paperwork is beginning. It will take a few weeks before the sh*t hits the fan.
