Hi there Soulforce members....found your site whilst researching for my dissertation...such a fantastic and much needed organisation (hopefully i'll find something similar in the UK...or just start one myself!). My dissertation is going to be an attempt at researching an answer to a question like: Faith groups and lesbians: inequality forever? (question to be developed with further research!)...oh, by the way I study social science, community development and youth work.

I'm coming from a kind of personal standpoint as i've had real tough experiences in the christian church (new frontiers international) and i'm hoping that by doing a dissertation in this area that I can reach some personal resolve...whilst also calling for more action to be taken to combat the oppression of LGBT individuals...I also see it as my way of contributing to this cause in a relentless and non-violent way!!

If you have any questions or comments then i'd really appreciate them...I need lots of input to get me thinking!! Also don't mind being challenged as I belive I can really grow and learn from each and every one of you...I will try and float around the forums...inputting where I can too!!

Thank you for reading. Gem.:)

Hi Gem. I'm afraid I don't have anything to contribute to your dissertation at the moment, but all the best with it - I just wanted to let you know that I am in the UK as well! So you're not the only one.

Hey there...where abouts in the Uk are you from? Do you know of any organisations that are doing a similar thing to soulforce over here?

Gem.

I don't know of groups like Soulforce in the UK, but you could always start a local Soulforce group there yourself. http://www.soulforce.org/article/102 Check out this link to the Soulforce local group page.

Gem - I am from Glasgow. I don't know of any Soulforce-type organisations. The best option is probably to start a local group. I mean, hey, UK could count as a "local area" if you look at things from a cosmic point of view. There are only 66,000 of us. Just a cosy little clique!
