Hello SF

We are Austin and Kat from Lexington, KY. Austin is currently transitioning and has been living full time as a male for the past 8 month. I was raised in the Christian church my whole life and my Father, Brother are ministers in the Christian Church. My whole family is anti GLBT and life has been challenging for me. I was blessed last year to have found Dotti Berry and Roby and their wonderful organization. I have alot of experience w/ Exodus as I was also Spiritually opressed by them. I am in school to be a counselor. My passion is the GLBT and I will advocate however I can. "Whatever it Takes".

I am really excited about Jay Bakker and the future of Soulforce and the church. I believe God is working in a mighty way and we will start to see a shift in Churches and how they have outcasted most of us our whole life. My dream job would be to counsel GLBT and to go around the nation speaking to churches and educating them about God's TRUE LOVE.

Austin is a security guard and recently asked me to marry him over new yrs eve. He is getting ready for top surg. and we are excited to see where God can use us. We pray that Lexington will become more open and affirming and soon!

welcome Austin & Kat! fellow Disciple here! of course, in our denomination we value those differences, and so the congregations can be liberal in some places, and conservative in others.

Glad you found us here!

I am so glad that you found this nurturing and loving community that we have here. It sounds like your journeys have been long and painful at times, but feel free to come around often and get what ever you need. Peace to both of you, Vanessa

Kat,

I'm also a partner of an FTM. Our lives have been blessed by his transition. It gave us the opportunity to look deeply into who we are as a couple, and we found that we are meant to continue to spend our lifetimes together. It can work, but like any relationship it takes love and honest communication.

Welcome to Soulforce.

Welcome!

I just recently joined Soulforce after watching the movie "The Bible tells me so". If you have the opportunity to watch it, I'd highly recommend it. I also came from a religious home and no longer have a relationship with my parents. This movie restored my faith in people just like the cover of the DVD said it would. I rented it at Blockbuster if you're interested in checking it out.

Congrats on your engagement!
