Good morning: It is confirmed that HRC will be in Scranton this afternoon. My daughter and I are planning to go to the public rally that she will be holding at a local high school. Not sure if we will get in, but my 10 year old is rather excited about it. I still need to educate myself fully about her and the issues, so I think it will be interesting. Wish us luck!!! :)

That's exciting!
it also made me go looking for an event near me. As it turns out, HRC will be about 15 miles from my place in April. I'm going to try to make it to the rally!

In envy you both! Wanna be there! :'(
One thing I do know- being a New Yorker- Hillary really did that hard work of getting out there and campaigning. Twice actually. She didn't take here second term as Senator (getting elected) for granted.
btw: there's an interesting article on her management style in the Times today.

I can imagine that, in person, she must be very dynamic to observe. And, the fact that our daughter is excited about the prospects of a woman president is pretty exciting also. She embodies so much that is necessary for all of us, women and men alike. I know that much of how she is portrayed is because she is a woman in a powerful role, and that appears more "bitchy" to some than "direct"; men continue to be able to get away with certain demeanors than women can.
The article was very interesting. More focused on "loyalty of service than experience" as far as those whom she surrounds herself with. I think what astounds me in part, about either one of the campaigns, is how much you are really at the mercy of who it is you select to surround you and assist.
Kind of like a President, yes??

Hubby saw Hillary in action a few years ago downtown with Senator Byrd and said she really 'held' the room- she just radiated charisma and confidence.
As I see it, the 'more focused on loyalty of service' thing is going to have to be changed. That's what Bush has done. And that's got us into trouble.
She may be a brilliant gal, but she's going to have to learn to run a better campaign in the next weeks. Heck. She let 11 states slip by her before waking up.
That's a cause for concern.

I'm glad you're getting to go!!
She was in Seattle last month... and I didn't find out until the next day. :disagee:
I managed to see Obama though... but I would've gone to BOTH rallies! :)

Yeah, Jen, I would like to see him also. Supposedly he will also be around quite a bit, even doing some town meeting formats which I would absolutely LOVE to attend and ask a question. Hillary's dad was originally from here, and her house she lived in is right in Scranton; her dad is buried here as well.

I am about 17 miles from there; it is in the Northeastern corner of Pennsylvania; about as far north and east as you can go before New York and New Jersey. She lived here before they moved to Illinois when she was a child.

Awe... I didn't realize that. I'm sure Pennsylvania will be seeing a lot of both of them in the next several weeks! :)
