I love that whenever my family is talking about ANYTHING, and we have a factual question, we all go "Gee, I don't know" until I remember that we're usually standing within 20 yards of a big magic box that answers those types of questions!
"Who was that actor..."
"What's the capitol of..."
etc.

I personally love the phrase “Google it!” It always seems to get the right answer.

 I hear that one to often!
I don't really know what my favorite thing about technology is... pretty much the only thing I use is the computer. So, I guess I love that you can find pretty much any information I want, stay connected with friends, do my schoolwork, and many other things, all thats to the computer and easy internet access.:)

 so you like it's ability to disappear...
so explain, how did you get such a high post count if you feel that way?

that is awesome!!!
we don't have a tv with any channels in our house (tv's just for the dvd player), so it would be useless, but still!

Conscious activism.
While I don't meditate in the AM as I used to (something to get back to), I make sure I sit quietly for at least 20 minutes before I go to bed. And singing, I should say, when done really well, has an element of stillness to it, which is not unlike meditation: the focus is very similar, except, in meditation, the attention is turned inwards to a much greater degree. Singing or playing an instrument necessitates a high level of focus, the kind of focus one encounters in becoming centered and still- yet energized. It's a paradox.
And this medium, is a lot healthier in some ways than TV, where one is bombarded my images- which - as I see it- can numb the mind. One becomes passively receptive (still love a great movie though, and hubby tells me I'm a great audience). Having to write means having to think. And I think that's a good thing.

I find meditation very rewarding, for me it's prayer, it enables me to become centered and, as you say, focused. Unfortunately i have no musical abilities, however i am able to pray (meditate) while listening to certain music, i find it evokes my passions, lifts me up.

I certainly agree here, while i too enjoy a good movie occasionally TV can be trashy. I am fortunate to live on a farm in the country. I enjoy a form of meditation outdoors, while i can hear sounds like birds, the wind, etc. i can pray continuously feeling very connected to our creator, a part of all that i am aware of. I remain grateful for the technology we all enjoy here. There is a scripture, can't remember where it's located, but it says, basically, "be still, know that i am God" ?? I think that's right. God brought us technology, it has it's place but HE is greater.

I have Dish-TV, my favorites are The Weather Channel so i know what to expect as i work outdoors. Love HGTV, keeps me abreast of the RE trends.
Technology can be complicated, sometimes confuseing for me, that must be apparent, i am still learning how to use this site. I have no passion concerning technology, i'll try meditateing on the subject, perhaps soon i'll master the use of this site and the forums. LOL, maybe i should pray for your mercy and tolerance.
