My staff took me out to lunch today, and extended the invitation to my partner. We had a wonderful time, and they all enjoyed getting to know each other (and joking about if I am really a good supervisor!).
Tomorrow morning we leave for Venice Beach for a long weekend with my Grandma, aunt and cousin. My partner will get to meet them for the first time. It should be a wonderful weekend, and yes, Vanessa, it's WAY better than any Easter basket!!!
Thanks! :love::love::D

Happy Happy Joy Joy (a rather catchy tune, I must say)

Interestingly, while I was spontaneously putting this post together, this next song started playing in my mind. (and for trivia's sake, I delivered this guy a barbecue chicken pizza when I was living in Milwaukee -- and delivering pizza's.)
Can't get enough of you Baby - Smash mouth

We had the most wonderful 4 days in Venice Beach, visiting my 93 year old Grandma and my aunt. They showered my partner with love and hugs, making her feel as though they've known her all her life! She was just a bit nervous about going (considering other family members!), but once there, felt completely at home and loved. My Grandma and aunt are just that way! :love: Plus met friends, my cousin and one of my cousin's girls who performs. Their new CD comes out in June, but I scored a 'pre' copy! And took lots of video footage of the area and messages to put into a DVD for my dad. We are trying to get him down for a visit. Will take some logistics, he's disabled and in a wheelchair, but with love and cooperation, I know it will work out.
It was possibly the very best birthday I've ever had. :love:

It sounds like it was just tremendous, and so well you and your honey had some blissful time with members of your family. I love grandmas, I miss mine terribly a lot of days. So glad for you that she is still around for you.
The thing about getting a loving, warm reception from our families of origin about who we are, is like the universe clicking into its proper place. It just feels so much about going back to our "egg", our beginnings, and all of that coming together with the present.
Glad it was so great for you.....:love:
oh gee, can't believe you connected that Patrick :lol:

T,
This is the first time I noticed you're a CA gurl. I practically lived at Santa Monica beach as a kid (right next to Venice Beach for you non Californians). I would always wander over to Venice because it was also the gay beach. ah memories. Glad you had a wonderful b'day.
