I am trying to change my avatar. The picture of the new avator is showing on the edit avator page but no where else and I keep getting a message that the upload failed.
Can someone please tell me what the problem might be?
Thanks,
BlueGirl

check the size of the picture and the limits for the size of the avatar. you may need to reduce the size of your new avatar.

For the longest time, I didn't know what an "avatar" was. I had no idea that it was the small photo on our profile! When I would hear that term on this site, I though you guys/gals were talking about some kind of new technological device like an I-pod or something! I'm not too smart with computers/technology. I tried to ask people at the office what the heck it was and got no answer! I really feel dumb here. I have to laugh at myself!
I guess I'm not the "brightest bulb" in the chandelier! LOL! :)

Thanks, guys, for the replies. I thought maybe the size had something to do with it so I checked it and it was ok. I closed the site several times and then went back and tried it again and still no change.
After all that and then posting a help message, I just got on here and see that it has been changed.  I hate computers when they act like that.
The avatar is still the same except for the background location.

Don't feel bad, Matthew. I'm not a real bright bulb either. :( There's so much to learn about these things and it takes a LOT of time and patience. Luck and common sense reasoning ability probably helps too, but it definitely requires a lot of time. I'm lucky that I have as much time to spend on it as I do.
I don't remember when or where I first heard of avatars or what I thought they were. See, I have a stinkin' memory problem and that sure is bad when trying to learn computer stuff.
Thanks again.
