I watched "For the Bible Tells me so" last night, and I was amazed at the insight given by Jacob Reitan and his parents. I thought he was some older guy who had just come out. I didn't know he was still a kid!!! And a cute one!!! I have seen his name on a few things, namely here at Soulforce. His parents are to be commended and I applaud everything they have done for him and what he stands for. It was good to see Mary Lou Wallner and Gene Robinson. It was just a good film. Go Jacob!! I can't get over how great this kid is. :)

AH!! I want to flipping see that film. It didn't come to a theatre near me, maybe our local indie theatre, but I didn't see it. I want to see it so badly. Maybe the Library will get a copy.:D

It was shown at an activist church nearby. These people are especially to be appreciated, because they are essentially a straight church, and they've taken up our cause!

The most obvious downside is that 90% of those who came to watch it were women. The American homophobe lives on, and he is male.

I appreciate that Jacob is a wonderful young man, with a promising future as a gay rights activist. I have met him. But I have also met Haven Herrin, and she is a beautiful person, with a strong spiritual air about her. I wish that she could have been included in the movie also.

My tears? Were for the families that have struggled to understand, and then to unconditionally support; the families that realize too late that their children need unconditional love; the persons that lack complete understanding, so spill their words of hatred upon all of our hearts; the strength of Jake and his family, to stand against Focus on the Family, by focusing on THEIR family; the inaccuracies and falsehoods that get perpetuated by people out of fear.....

The tears just would not stop. :'(:'(:'(
